Question for Savage Flux HP owners...

I broke down and throw a pile of money at a savage flux hp tonight. I charged one 3s battery and threw another 2s I had laying around in it while the other 3s charges up. While toying around in the street (just touching the throttle here and there to get a feel for the cars handling etc) it came to a halt.

A closer look I see the pinion gear is loose on the motor shaft and not making contact with the spur. This is very disappointing as I JUST brought the car home brand new.

I am fairly new to this stuff. How would I go about accessing the gear to tighten it back up? Anyone else having / had this issue? Any advice on the repair and how to prevent it in the future is much appreciated.

**Update**

I was able to fix it for now (original set screw holding pinion on shaft was long gone. Good thing they included a spare in the hardware bag). Now I am scared to drive it. I tightened the new one as much as I could (fishing the allen wrench down there and 'torquing' it with pliers) do you guys know of a permanent worry-free solution?

Loctite the grub screw on the pinion.

It's always a good idea to go over a brand new truck and check all of the screws for tightness. Don't overtorque, but make sure everything is secure.

Unless you got the Flux XS, one 2s battery isn't enough to run the truck, iirc. You will need at least (2) 2s batteries to run the truck.
