I like them bigger. My two other smaller A-1s were really nice fliers so this one should be too.
I am going to install a bungee hook also on the Sandy so I can maiden it here. Only plane I have here that can ROG is my Polaris.

Here is where it starts to slow down. Lots of detail yet and I don't expect to be painting for at least a month. SEFF is right around the corner so I lose about 10 days too. But like you, I am excited about getting some paint on it.

He's been out all day flying that new edf with retracts...

The EDF unit is going in Snoopy's doghouse or the flying broom when I build them.
Not much done today, had a Doc appt and the wife used it for an excuse to shop. But I did get one side of the rudder glassed, will finish it tomorrow.

Hey, John, when you check out the Oscar build take a good look at the rendition of the Sentai engine? It's out of paper and only weighs 1/4oz. I bet your Skyraider would look terrific with a Wright Cyclone engine in place.

That is a really great way to do the motor. Don't think I want to build up a Duplex Cyclone of 18 cylinders though! Think I will go with one of Sparky's 9 cyl vac formed ones.

Guess I couldn't put it off anymore. Here's what I'm working on.
I've got so much "meat" removed for the gear that I feel I need to drop an add'l 1/4" spar across the narrow part where the stut lowers into.

Hey, I would build the Wright Cyclone with only the front cylinders showing. This is what I did on the Sentai. It was a fourteen cylinder engine, but the rear cylinders would not be seen, so not worth the work. I also didn't put the heads on because they would not be seen. This motor really gives the engine area some depth, and for me it was great fun.

I'm shocked!!! I'm surprised you don't have that little 55 mm fan unit somewhere in the picture.

That's the plan Dennis, I'm using Sparky's 9 cyl Wright and just the front half.
And you can officially call me Gramps tomorrow, turning 65. If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have taken much better care of myself.

I am using the fan to blow all the foam dust out of the wheel openings.

Have it all ready to glue in. I did make and glue a 1/4" lite ply spar in the middle of the strut to reinforce the wing.
May not finish the gear up until Thursday, have some other things going on tomorrow.
