What a Wonderful World

One aspect I love about our hobby is slope soaring. It gets you out of the house and out to the beach or wide open spaces. I have also met some great people and formed long friendships through the hobby. I was just thinking the other day how fortunate I was and recalled a neat song by Louis Armstrong that always lifted my spirits. Had a bit of a look into my hard drive and threw a few pics together to make a vid to go along with his great lyrics.

Top stuff. I plan to slope soar in NZ later this year. Whereabouts are you living?

Hamilton in the Waikato. The on board shots in the vid were taken at Raglan. When you come over sing out on the web site below to let us know where you are heading and hopefully there will be someone local to hook up with you.

Thanks. We'll be staying in Napier (my wife's home town) for about six months and traveling around the North Island when we can get a bit of time off work (it's a working holiday). Will be in the South Island in 2 weeks for a holiday and plan to check out the club at Napier on the way back.

The video you produced is really great. Thanks again.

The Hawkes Bay has a lot of active modellers. Here's the local club website: http://www.hbrf.org.nz/joomla/

and a nice model shop in Hastings: http://www.wattsup.co.nz/catalog/home.php

Sweet. Thanks. I've already been in contact with the local club. Seeing the hobby shop is great. I was wondering what they had in the area. Have a super day!
