Some pictures of new DJI Flame Wheel F550 completed with FPV gear and Contour GPS !

I just wanted to say thank you for everyone here that helped me with this and the people who started all the threads that I studied for ideas and answers.

The only thing I'm waiting for is a new camera wire harness from Range Video, a 500mah battery for the camera and video TX, tape strip LED's, and Graupner props.

My setup is:
DJI Flame Wheel F550 with NAZA 100% stock
Spektrum DX8 with AR8000 and TM1000 Telemetry module
Turnigy Nano Tech 4,500mah 4s battery
200mw 5.8 TX/RX from Hi Model (will get the CP antennas soon)
Range Video KX191 FPV camera
3D video eyewear (looking for new FPV glasses)
Contour GPS helmet camera for recording (will get a nicer camera when I get landing gear and a gimble)

Weight fully loaded is 1965 grams, will lose some when I swap the 1000mah for the 500mah FPV battery

I've only hovered it without all the equipment and with a 2200 3s battery.
I can't wait to try this out and do some FPV flying when my camera cable arrives.

Again, thank you very much for all the help everyone has given me.
I see a Wookong WK-M in the near future.

I use 8" props as it stands with 3S6400mah..... adding 2-axis gimbal + GoPro + Data Link I use 10" props still 3S. Adding more weight say adding 1.2kg to stock frame + 4S5000mah I use 10" props.

I don't know if it hovers at 50% yet.
I'm excited and scared to find out, I'll test it tonight after work.
It hovered great at 50% with the 2200mah 3s without all the FPV equipment.
The 4500mah 4s battery alone is close to a pound and a half.

Sidney,
I like the heli gear look.
How did you attach it to the bottom plate. I'm scared to drill into the plate in fear of hitting a trace.
I have some 30 size gear from my wrecked gas helicopters in a box. I might try them out.

I finally got to hover the F550 with all the gear and the Contour GPS helmet camera in between the two frames. Here is a boring video from the Contour.
I think it is is pretty balanced, I still need to balance the motors. I don't see any vibration in the video.
I have some legs on order and want to put a Samsung H300 camcorder on it since it only weights 6 ounces and will get better quality video.
It takes a little over center stick to hover, maybe almost 60%. From my 6 1/2 minute hover it used 2200mah. My iCharger 306B put in 2300 mah and with the 4500mah battery wouldn't using 2200mah be correct. The red led started blinking and I though I would have used a lot more than 2200mah.

Jasper, I just ordered a F550 that I plan to build very similar to yours but GoPro with Naza instead of WK-M and Contour. (ops, you are also using NAZA, WK-M is from Sidney picture!)
Also have a X468 landing gear ordered.
If you don't mind, what propellers size are you using with all this payload?
And what about flight time?

I had the X468 XT gear to but do not anymore, and I'm using the stock 10" props and it does just fine.
I was getting about 7 minutes or so using 80% of the 4500 4s battery and being at 2388 grams.

Now that I'm back to no landing gear or gimbal and just the FPV camera, 500mah battery, TX, and the Contour I'm getting 10 minutes again.

Also the Samsung H300 was horribly blurry.
Debating now on a GoPro 2 or Sony HX9V (Nex5n too expensive)

Don't have U brackets made so I am using 3M double sided tape + 4 zipties. The alum tubing is 8mm OD; I am also using two 10mm x 8" straight tubes for gimbal mount.

need setup help flamewheel f-550 with naza control and dx8 radio

Hi guys Iíve been in RC over 20 years but Iíve just started with the muti prop systems. I purchased a flame wheel f550 and naza setup last week had some wiring issues and was hard to get all the setup done but I did it with some of the sellers help, so at this point I took the machine out for a flight and it seemed pretty good but I need to know how to adjust the gain settings and make it a bit less stick sensitive.

also the seller recommended NOT to use the fail safe settings or the battery low warnings I feel this is a very important part of the $429.00 dx8 I just bought and Iíd like to use it. Iím running a stock system with a 4s 14.8v 6000mah lipo and the stock dx8 radio and 10" props does anyone have a setup similar that I could get the radio settings from? Like a dl I can put on my sd card? And if so how do I load it? Iím a computer guy so I get the html thing
any setup idea's you might have would be very helpful I really love the concept of this thing and the way itís supposed to work Iím tired of helis and wanted a good video platform you just canít get that from a heli well thanks again hereís a few pics and links to the review and the 2 test flights Iíve done so far

Hey another question whatís the wind flight limit on this thing like how much wind can it stand for normal flight? Thanks all............

cant load the vids but heres the links to u-tube

The guy I bought my new F550 also said not to use the fail safe but I wanted to .
It took me a while to understand how to set it up with my DX8 and AR8000. I printed out the instructions from somewhere on here and finally got it set up to activate when the radio is turned off. I wanted to set it up with a switch but that was too complicated.

I've had it set up for a few weeks already and too scared to test it out. Yesterday I finally did it and it's AWESOME. I got to the point where people were watching and I was about 20ft up (no wind) and I turned it off and set the TX on the ground and they were amazed that it just coasted to a gentle landing.

I can email you my SD card setting but I just went to export the model memory in the TX and it said i will delete everything so I didn't want to attempt it.
Later I can go through the instructions and do it.
I will also try to find the thread where I go the instructions from.
