File this under cool battery tech we'll probably never see

But if you are interested, this new Graphene battery MIT designed presents some pretty interesting possibilities for the future of electrical storage and by extrapolation, alternative energies:

Read up. Sorry if it's a repost. Article date 3/5.

I started this thread to talk about batteries. Political posts are not welcome. Please refer to board terms of use, and recognize that we have an area of RC Groups dedicated to such discussions as use of tax dollars and research funding: the LTUP forum.

Interesting technology, but indeed, when will we see a practical application...
This could help reverse global warming if we use it on a large enough scale!

Work has been done in Hong Kong, so no need to worry about US tax funding ;-)

Graphene is amazing. 50 amps through a wire a fraction the diameter of a human hair.
I say 10 more years before we see real and affordable applications with this.

We will see this technology I think in the future. Im sure they could make some truely awesome packs now ... They just wouldn't be able to sell them due to the high price they would cost.

Whats political about it if its true? This thread should be moved to the "LTUP Forum" you speak of since its funded as such. Didn't know facts were political. Why are peoples feelings being hurt so bad these days?

And those tax dollars allow teamscon to post ignorant comments for the rest of us to read.

But hey maybe if he read the article he would have realized that this wasn't an mit battery but a china polytech university that created it.
