As time marches on, I am thinking iphone/ipad app with bluetooth USB dongle for the ESC may be the best for field setup. Viewing logging would need an ipad or laptop for the larger screen.

Another vote for Mac. The only time I start up my PC dinosaur is for certain programs related to RC.

Castle is working on Mac compatibility... also mobile devices...
Many of the folks at Castle use Mac... I currently use virtual box with W7 and it works very well. |

I have virtual box setup but it isn't recognizing the usb link. Trying with Vista.

I think we are on the cusp of a huge move to Tablets & Smart phones, so a longer term solution may be called for.

Well, the easy solution is to release the protocol spec and have the community build it. They dont have to open source the firmware to do that.
The money is not in writing programs to update speed controllers. The money is in selling speed controllers. Put the source code for the windows programmer up on Git Hub and let the community fork it into Mac, iOS, Linux, Android and whatever other versions the community wants. |

You wouldn't consider a video on setting up on MAC, would you???? I am not that great on computers.

Well I got it working with virtualbox, windows vista (best cd I had around) on my Mac. Works great.
I'm trying to remember what I did because I was doing a lot of things. One you have to make sure that the usb device is loading in the VM and not the Mac. I also updated vista to all the latest service packs etc. Robert |
