Evening all well I've been doing lots of filling and sanding the last couple of weeks of the fuselage to clean things up after paint stripping. So tonight I set about glassing in some honeycomb corematt between the fin and some 1 1/2oz tight weave glass cloth to remove the oilcanning of the fin, this in turn allows me to fill and sand the fin before spraying on the two pack epoxy primer and sanding again...... and so on and so on......

Well the corematt was a partial success, stiffer than it was but not as stiff as I'd hoped for but usable.
In hindsight I think I would have been better off using some 6k carbon twill..... Oh well, live and learne.

So while feeling a little better today having survived a bad dose of gastro the day before and with the sun beaming down I set about and primed the wings to the ASW 22 with two pack epoxy primer, marvelous stuff this. Once cured for a few days I'll attack the wings with a 16"air file fitted with 120 grit paper, followed buy primer cure and wet rub with 600 grit wetn dry used wet. If all is well then I start the next process..... cutting out both flaps and facings.
Think I need to go back to bed now.....

Hi Gudmund I'm afraid I've been a little slack the last week on the ASW 22 but I have secured a tow plane in the form of a 45% CA models Edge 540 including all the gear to run the model including pilot. She should be back together in the next week or two while workng on the 22.

Did some more work on the 22 last night, nothing overly exciting, more sanding to the wings, do next up with the good weather coming this Wednesday on Anzac day I'll reprise the wings and the fuse before starting the wet rub process and then the real fun begins....... Cutting out the flying surfaces and facing.

It's looking good! What are your plans for treating the exposed sides of the wing and control surface once you make the cuts?
