Planetary Gear Motor
I have a Faulhaber 18,8:1 planetary drive, coreless motor with a JMP HF9 speed controler, it's out of a Tiny that was only flown a few time...I was wondering if this setup can be used with a LiPO battery system? I can't locate any information about the motor or it's power requirements.
Are either of these units worth using in the world of coreless and Lipo or should I trash them.

Welcome to the forum.
Lipo cells should work well with this motor, planetary drive and ESC in an appropriately sized model. The right lipo battery size will be around 2S 150 mAh and should weigh much less than seven 50 mAh nicad or Nimh cells. Potential performance should be much better.
Here are some examples of planes using your ESC and gear drives. I believe they are similar to the Tiny:
