DX6I settings for Blade 120SR

I have been trying to get my settings right on my new DX6i receiver radio. I'm learning on the Blade 120SR. I watched a few videos on YouTube, and the helicopter flies, but does not seem to fly right. Can someone verify my settings I have in my Radio and tell me if I'm on track.:

Hi and welcome.

I have a DX6i aswell but not a 120sr.
ok here goes

Why do you have subtrim on gyro? remove!
on gyro rate mode you have both above 50. unless you use one for hover and one for hard mauvers one should be under 50 and then you will have "rate mode" on that one.
Maby increas throttle curve a bit so: 0 45 65 80 90 (the last 2 ones up to you)

I never use the mixes.

But how do you mean flying wrong? if you explain a bit more it may help. its not allways the radios fault you know

On take off it nose down to left and I had to trim aileron almost all the way to right then I have to throttle up quick to prevent it from flipping over. It's not a gentle take off. Also I have no aft elevator or very little. I was setting up my new DX6i according to a YouTube video since I just bought my new radio. Having hard time making since of book. but I'm chipping away at it little by little. I'm hoping to make more since of it with help.

OK I removed removed the Gyro from the sub trim and set it to 0. But I'm a little confused about the Gyro rate mode as I have it
GYRO
Rate SW-Gyro
0: ← 90.5 %
1: 65.5%
Witch on do I decrease 0 or 1. Can you explain how these setting work?

Hmm now at liftoff its common that it can tilt left but its only first when getting it off the ground. The forward issue is either that your swashplate is not level or weight issue perhappes. have you tired keeping it close to hover and moveing the right stick around to se how it reacts?

Well you can have it any way you like with 0 (the pin up) you can have heading hold mode. that means gyro will keep the tail. if you decrease the 1 below 49 you will have rate mode wich means the helicopter will only compensate a little bit when for example wind hit it.

You will fly with the 0 most of the times. most people usually use ratemode when setting up the heli.

oh and the subtrims. if you only copied what the video sad and did not look what subtrim actually does with your heli you need to do this. your heli may not be exactly like his.

But i cannot be to specific since i only have your transmitter not your type of heli.
And ok i just checked you have a fixed pitch heli so perhappes the old throttle curve is better for you but its up to you to determine the feel of it.

Heres a video to understand your controller:

Ch5/gyro will only respond to two values, high and low. The switchover point is roughly 55. Both your gyro rates--which are actually ELE and AIL rates--are high. Set one to zero and one to 100. Those are the only choices you have with that switch. 120SR is not a HH gyro and gyro gain is not adjustable.

IMO 120SR does not require or benefit from expo.

the only expo you want on the 120 is on the tail/rudder -120 or whatever the lowest/fastest number is. also the swash should be set to 90 degrees/1 servo. the only other settings that you can use are mixes on flight modes to make it fly straight when in FF as defined in the above post. (your settings might be right but,,)
I dont remember the values as mine was sold over a year ago.

Thanks for all of your support. I work nights 12 hour shifts so have not had time to get back and review all of your posts. It's flying much better now, after following the link that was posted earlier. I also Adjusted my swash plate and now all my trims are in the middle position. It has a much smoother flight. The only tweaking I need to do now is figure out why when I fly backward it fly's as if I'm pushing the aileron stick to left, which I'm not. Ive learned allot reading all of the post. Thanks for your support. I'll continue Monday on may day off. Thanks!
