im limited to around 220-230grams this battery http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=21347 looks good perfect weight and its a zippy compact my local warehouse just sold out so i will have to buy from the international warehouse if they dont sell out before i place my order ill test that pack and report back

I've been using packs in that range and either side of and all have performed well. Only failure so far has been due to crash damage breaking of a tab from a cell and nothing left of tab to solder back to ! Was not batterys fault !

i can run two packs of the 1500 4S zippy compacts vertical in my model they just fit and it balances so thats running a 3000 4S yeahhhhhhhhh baby just ordered 6 more packs of these batteries

i got a 5000 a few days ago have ten flights on it numbers a 3,3,5,4 so i think that makes it a true 15c

used a icharger 106b

My four 5000mAh 3S packs have just hit 25 cycles each, three have puffed a bit and the fourth feels like it's going to soon.

All charges are done @ 0.7-1C to 12.6V on a Turnigy 200W charger, discharge always to minimum 10.4V under load (3.46V per cell, measured with telemetry).

About 70 of those 100 cycles have been in a quadcopter drawing 18A in the hover with up to 40A with full power climb out. Max current draw has been 60A (12C) in a big EDF with which I've had 6 flights. The packs have only been a little warmer than skin temperature even after the 60A.

They still take ~4000mAh on recharge which is 80% and seem to perform fine except the puffing which is a bit disapointing as there's been no abuse.

Edit: Note I fly at 1550m (5000ft) altitude, not sure if that has an effect on the the likelyhood of puffing?

My two 4s 2200 35C packs continue to please. Probably about 30 cycles on each, pulling about 50 amps or 23C each flight. I charge to 4.18V/cell and discharge to around 3.75V/cell. I've heard that the cheaper packs (Zippy, Turnigy, etc.) don't tolerate being discharged much below 3.7V/cell. I have always babied my cheap packs in this respect and generally get hundreds of cycles out of them before they poop out.

I use a 6S 3700mah 25C in an EDF.

Voltage drops considerably to 21V on a fresh battery with just a 65amp load.

On the plus side, it was cheaper than a comparable nano-tech and my flight times went up...

My four 5000mAh 3S packs have just hit 35 cycles each. In my quadcopter using ~17A in the hover, packs 1&2 take around 3400mAh flying to 10.5V (3.5V per cell - 12 minutes), packs 3&4 take around 2800mAh (also to 3.5V per cell - 9 minutes).

My old Turnigy's hit ~3500mAh @ 175 cycles in the same circumstances, so these 25C Zippy Compacts are utter junk. Don't know about the higher C ones but stay away from this 25C 5000mAh version at all costs!

hello,
last month, I received two 5800 zippy compact, one 4S, one 5S, there is an increase in weight,5S, 715grs vs 655 grs one year ago, cells are thicker.
Capacity has not improved , I got 5720 mAh/3.3V cut/"old" cell and the new one, 5500 mAh...
My next batteries will not come from HK...

Which Turnigy exactly?

I bet a thunder power would be fine after 100+ cycles, so paying 3x more for a 3x better battery might be worth it. The new 3900 and 4400mahr G8's are tempting.

This thread is "worrisome"...can't have multi-rotors (with expensive cameras onboard) falling out of the sky!

Seems the 35C compacts get good reviews (in this thread) but the 25C are iffy. The 35C Zippy Compacts are not exactly light though, and cost more, so the "regular" lipos (nanos for example) become an option too.

My 3 35C have 20cycles with only one showing signs of slight puff. They are lighter and hold up well to my 70mm EDF's. Overall a good value, nothing "outstanding".
