100" Pusher Glider with Twin Booms A-tail

Glider with Pusher motor project.

How long shall the the Twin booms be compared to the wings?
Is there a certain percentage when measuring compared to wing span(ie...100").?

This plane is not mine, but I may want to re-create it with the help of someone.

I would use the main canopy and wings only on these:

Thank you.....

I'd go with the ASW, looks like it has more room for stuff. I'd use carbon golf shafts off ebay for the booms. That's a cool idea to lop off the fuselage and add a pusher. I'd use photographs to get the decalage.

As for your question about ratios of wing span to tail moment, use the full scale as a guide. Find a 3 view of the full size, since those HK models are scale, and determine wing area/tail area ratio and length. If you shorten the tail distance, then increase the tail area. Do a search of this site for tail moment formulas and V tails, anything by Dr. Drela or Don Stockhouse is good info.

Be very careful with large hand launched pushers.

Luckily the scars across the back of my hand have now faded

Thermalin,

Thanks for the post, but I want to make a;

1. VeryHigh performance OverPowered Glider....

2. able to Glide very well (long flightimes power 'off'),...

3. must be 'fast' (thinner wings) during the glide,

4. and over powered brushless motor just for fun (strong wings).....

HELModels,
thanks for the input up above:-)

I'm just throwing ideas here
This is a scratch build using another plane so my hopes are high

...again, this is for fun and experimentation and if it works out well, it would be worth it
