Help!
Battery discharge question. How long will my battery last

Hello,
I'm fairly new to electric flying.
I have my quadcopter FPV setup and wondering what size battery I need to last for maybe 2-3 charges so about 30 minutes total and still have the suggested charge left in the Lipo

My 5.8 TX and camera draws a total of 310mah.
I do not know the formula to see what the smallest 3S size battery to use to make it last 30 minutes.

I have an extra 3S 2200mah that weights 165 grams but I'd like to be light as possible. I see on Hobby King that a 1000mah 15c weights 109 grams.

Thanks.

First of all you have to know how much current you quadcopter draws in flight. This can be determined with a wattmeter. Then it is a mater of calculating how much current you need to fly 30 minutes.

You're not very clear. Do you mean you are using a separate battery for the FPV Tx and camera and it's that you want to last for 30 minutes ? Which I'm guessing is 2 or 3 charges of the main power battery ?

If so then it's pretty simple. mAh mean milliamp hours. If you want 310mA for 1/2 hour it only needs 155mAh (half of 310 )....so call it 200mAh to give you plenty to spare capacity.

Of course if you meant something else then that hasn't helped at all .

Thank you very much, thats exactly what I needed.
Sorry for not being clear.
I have a 4s battery for my main power.
So my 2200 is way over kill than for my FPV, I'll get a smaller battery maybe like 250mah range.
Thanks again.
