The only problem with adding material to the top and not the bottom is that it will tend to cause warping.

Those tails are nice, eh? I can't wait to get the plane in the air.
Linkages glued in wings, elevator horn set, fuselage prepped for wing linkages, linkages made.
To-Do:
-Glue in servos
-Install switchjack
-Run pull-string
-Install blade
-Program

I think I can get it all done before I sleep tomorrow!
Should be no problem to maiden on Sunday's event, I just hope the weather cooperates...

James, glad to see you getting more stick time on it and enjoying it!
How's are you liking the other characteristics of the plane?
Any data on dead air times compared to your other planes? Would love to see how it stacks up against your regular quiver in the hands of a good pilot.

Thomas, here's the pic of the uni carbon tip doubler that I promised. Sorry it took me two days to get it.

I too am looking forward to a flight report. Will this be your lightest Neos yet?

Thanks Matt, I'm excited for the maiden tomorrow!
Brandon, yes, this is my lightest one so far. Will post photos later. Thanks for the pic! Lots of disser on your wing
Plane is ~250g AUW with CG at 72mm like my standard Neos.

Here it is..... new plane for tomorrow's event! All that's missing is the leading edge flashy tape thing

I just weighed my standard Neos after some repairs I had to do to it (such as a camera man stepping on the vertical!), coming in at 281g now, but with the huge wing area it still feels light as a feather in the air...awesome.

Thanks you!
Now all I need to do is find some time and change my very repaired tails on my old Neos and put on some brand new carbon tails!

Did a bunch of testing today. Started at 6:30 am for dead air testing. Went back in the after noon to work on my launches. Set my personnel best at 181 ft (55m) I think I can hit 200(61m)!! This just keeps getting better. Dead air testing shows 2:00 min on every throw. Thats on a 150' (46m) launch. That's is high as I can throw in dead air. Tested reflex to zero camber on launch, more to follow....also tested float camber settings all the way to 8mm. Very interesting results..... 40 launches in 25 minutes I'm tired!

Very cool Dave! Nice bright and early to do tests.
I can't wait to see your reaction when you hit 200! I'm very excited to hear how the plane works for you at the SASS 2-day against the best in the region!

I had a very good day of flying as well, woke up at 6am, drove to the other side of Hong Kong, and took a ferry to Sham Chung. I can't believe a place like this still exists here, no cars, barely any people, very blue skies, just a couple villagers, a small store/cafe, some ponds, and a beautiful grass field.
Apparently one of the largest developers here bought it to make into a resort for one of there developments, but was stopped by environmentalists, so we will have access to this site for a long time.

I maidened my new light Neos, man it's beautiful in the air. I think I have a bit too much noseweight, will take some out, should drop it into the high 240's. Penetration is ridiculously good for the weight, and indicates even the lightest lift. Requires a bit more work in wind than my other Neos which is at 281grams now after some repairs.
More trimming and flying to follow!!

We're here!

And finally time to go home after 7 hours of flying..

Sadly I was too busy flying to take photos of the Neos in the air, maybe someone else has a pic or two I can steal later
