Thanks Fred, I lost me internet connection for a few days after a wild storm passed through earlier in the week, so missed it.

I think Joe would be in for a treat when he get his hands on these single phase motors!

Those are very pretty. I probably missed it, but what is the difference between the two boards pictured?

Now that's a small speedie Chris!
Kev, I am thinking the wired up one is the original and the other two boards are the ones he has made for production.

Kev, it's the same board. I just clipped off the programming pads in the end. Anyway, I don't need them. It turned out that it is simpler to solder the uC to a programing board, flash the code, set the fuses and the lockbits and then take it off again and solder it to the final board. It is much more effort to solder 6 wires to each board and then program in circuit. Funny, I always thought in circuit programming is the thing, but it is only for development, not for production of the ultra small stuff. The cap might be a bit oversized right now as you can see. That footprint was ment for a 0402 4.7uF cap, which worked well, but had problems with my all big and slow test motor (6mm magnet). For the smallest projects, this can be exchanged again. I wanted to make sure that the controllers I sent out have the maximum robustness.

BTW, I designed a new board with the new SI4355 rx. This is going to be sweet

Here's the name of the product: c3blc1

The device ships with magnet wires attached to it. Please refer to the image above for pin assignment. Red is black and plus is minus

I did some testing with 1 and 2 10mAh FR lipos. 1 isn't doing it at all. 2 seem to be fine. I get stable 200mA at around 3.5V for a while then voltage is dropping slowly towards 3V. It should be possible to wind a slightly hotter motor. This one is still staying cold and so is the controller. This test was also with the small controller with A3903 bridge. The new board with SI 4355 receiver and A3903 bridge is coming along well. It's going to be smaller than the c3blc1! I need to test if this setup is running at all. The difficulty is that I have to handle 2 voltages, because the SI4355 is running on 3.3V.

Chris,

Have you tried the 20 FR cell. The weight would be the same as the 2 cell 10mAh set up.

I know, but it doesn't fit easily. I'll try 2 10mAh, if it works I might as well consider 30mAh which is just a bit thicker than the 20. I would have to cut a slot into the bottom of the fuse for both batteries, which is not yet quite what I want to do. If you can fit the 30mAh you will be amazed what power you can get from two motors. What magnet size are you planning to use?

I have some 2.5mm magnets, and even some smaller ones that a friend gave me. I figured that I would build a few motors to test out what is the best magnet, wire size and ohms for the power that I need.
