Hey guys,
my first rotor is on the way from shapeways. It's supposed to be delivered today And the best is, I got them to print a version with 0.125mm trailing edge thickness  It passed the tests! The thickest point of the airfoil is just a bit over 0.3mm at the tip. Maybe that is doing the trick. I am now working on the nacelle and stator. Next is the motor frame that plugs into the center cone of the stator. I will post pics as soon as I have the part.Chris |

That's great news Chris. Did they first reject it or did it go straight through passing all tests?

Here's the complete fan assembly. The file works for shapeways already. Need to turn the red surfaces inside out and close some holes in the mesh. This is a software based design. I can change any parameter like diameter, pitch, chord, hub, spinner, number of blades, bore... and instantly will get a finished design, ready for shapeways.
I want to generate an array of units, cause it makes it much cheaper than buying multiples of one unit. Chris |
