Sorry bout that.
It's an easy build. The motor is placed just behind the aerodynamic center of the plane which (unlike other designs) pulls the battery from the forward fuse back completely inside the nacelle. Easily trimmed this plane is a straight and smooth hands off flyer with it's Kline-Fogelman m4 wing and quite a nimble aerobatic flyer with plenty of power at half throttle with a 2200kv 400 class motor with a 6x4 prop.

Checking my media-fire site last night I found that in the last thirty days my Five Easy Piece F-22 Raptor has been download twice as much as any other of my plans and has exceed my F-14 Tomcat and is rapidly gaining on the "Feng Shui J-20" as the all time download leader.
Thanks guys. Glad you like it.
Fair skies and Good flying!

Does this work better?

You will need the current Acrobat Reader software. It is a free download.
Just Google it.
Also on page one of this thread I somehow managed to post the actual PDF.
You could try to download from RCGroups.

I found a listing here for a FED-ex print and ship. They should be able to plot my PDF Raptor file for you. I'm still sorting out Scale-n-tile.

I hope you're not referring to my program, ScaleAndTile3. The program works fine with Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. If you're having problems "still sorting out ... ", I'd venture a guess it's not the program, but rather an incorrect setup of your Computer/OS. Please don't blame my program for two months of "still sorting out ...".

Cheers,
Bill Segraves

Oh Bill,
it's definitely not your program. Every time I say I'm gonna do it something else comes up and I don't get to it. I procrastinate a lot too. I know that if i just will sit down and open it it will work.
But today my F-14 needed a new nose so I designed a 3D nose.
Then it wanted to be painted.
See how it is?

Nice work.

Your talents are better applied to design of really nice models. ScaleAndTile3 can wait for you to try using it.

Best regards,

Sorry bout that.
I'm still tweaking the plane. I realized I hadn't captured the true slope of the back of her neck so I got my knife and hot glue back out and committed surgery on her again. I think I got it right now.

So how does she compare to the RCPowers F-22v2?
She is lighter than her RCP cousin simply because she is 7" shorter.
My Profile version is about 10 ounces with a Grayson Hobby Micro-Jet flight pack.
The v2 is maybe 12 oz. haven't had a chance to weigh her. My RCP F-22 was 15.5-17.oz. more or less. The 'Five Easy Piece' (5EZP) build is inherently lighter.
I cut my "5EZP" F-22 from the actual "Viritual Aircraft Museum.cm" Diagram. So she is true to the prototype F-22.
In addition I sized her at 42" Long because from my experience that's a great size for my 2200kv motors and 6x4 props.

The RCP version is deliberately altered from the original to (supposedly) "enhance flight characteristics". The nose has been lengthened and the wings and elevons and rudders are not exactly the prototypical shape or proportions either.
Why?
( To copy write and Market the PDF RCP needed to have a unique take on the plane in addition to wanting to make a plane that would reach a broad spectrum of flyers and skill levels. Their F-22 does just that. I cut my teeth on the RCP f-22v2. It's a great plane and I still have one in my inventory however it's not flying right now cause it needs a new nose. )

RCPowers said in one of their videos that 'if you made a plane to scale proportions it would not fly well.'
Hmmmm.

I just say check out my videos of my "5EZP" Raptor and decide for yourself.
I've have built and flown both Raptors and, IMHO, the RCP is nice and stable and slow in response.
My "5EZP" F-22 on the other hand is more nimble due in part to the location of her motor just behind her Aerodynamic center.
She is also quite stable and easy to fly on just elevons as my videos attest.
But I digress....

If the morning brings calm winds I will take her up for a test spin.
Video should follow.
Once I get her sorted out I will repost the PDF v2 plan for you here.
