Thank you.
media-Fire has had some tech probe of late.
I'm a paying customer now so I feel able to complain as well as praise.
You'll find the Five Easy Piece Raptor's an easy plane to build.
I wanna see your flight videos.
If you have any build questions though just let me know.

Bob

Up and out on bright calm Sunday Morning and the ESC wire control melts with much smoke cutting the flight short.

uh oh, a pakfa t-50, guess i'll go look at your blog. if not there i'll use the "google is not my friend" search function. if to no avail... i'llbeback.

michael clyde

edit -
t-50 = found
mig - 29 = not found
su-37 (flanker) = not found
the 29 & the 37 are imo the best & meanest looking aircraft bar none. from the fwiw department.

thanks for the t-50 i'm looking at an owens pink 1/2" x 48" w/s by 6' or so mid-mounted pusher with a scorpion II 3020-1110 that i've been itching to install. which of your 5th gen fighters do you think handles better the 22 or the 50?

thanks again

Got a rough ETA for that F-18? I'm looking for a quick build to fly after work near my place, this could be it.

I had a decent setup on my 1st Five easy piece 44" Pak Fa but I've yet to get my 48" sorted out. I cut a new pattern for a 42" PAK FA that will use a three channel elevon set-up on for simplicity. IMHO the PAK FA with operating LERX was more nimble but really touchy. I like my simple 42" five easy piece F-22 three channel w/ elevons. It is easy to fly.
I like my five easy piece Su-47 berkut v1 and larger 3D v2 with active canards for fast and nimble flying.
I haven't rendered the Mig-29 or the others you mentioned in the FEP format as of yet.

Oh geee. I was working on it the other day. I think I have the nacelles and gizmo box sorted out. It's gonna be 48" long and use a 2200kv motor.
I'll post as soon as I can complete the build and maiden.
My new job just so cuts into my flying.

No problem.
Leading Edge Root Extension = LERX.

I had to disable them on my PAK FA. I wasn't using them like real LERX anyway. I was trying to use them like canards which they are not. They are meant to maintain airflow over the wing and keep the nose down as the PAK FA like most fighters runs tail heavy. The were connected to the top arm of the elevator servo I tried to set them down a 1/4" when the elevator was neutral. Despite a stiffing rod the LERX would fail and bend up pitching the nose up so I would have to trim the elevator down to balance. Lottsa drag. So I cut 'em loose and taped them down.
Gonna build a 42" PAK FA the same size as my F-22 and use the smaller motor.

On the last flight low temp Hot glue on the motor mount melted as the motor warmed up and was drawn into the spinning motor shaft increasing the drag and amp draw till the ESC gave out and the black wire turned cherry hot and burned off the insulation and almost caught the role Raptor on fire. That's the debrief on the previous smoke'n raptor flight video. So new motor new 20amp ESC and all is well.

Much obliged, sir.

(Though it's mostly for references as mine will be a CF-18 and will be smaller to fit the flying area better.)
