I wouldn't spend too much time trying to get a deal, DJI are able to sell all they can make, and more, without discounting.
Ummm...I think we have some of the best combo prices. The combo discount ends at end of month.

Meanwhile, here's the finished 14ch rc vid...

Excellent - and another reason not to wait around before ordering.

Thanks for the videos, very helpful. Did we ever get an answer to the question of binding. Do you need 2 8FG's or and does it have to be a 14 channel 6014? or would this idea of an R6017 work?
thanks

Not sure, not used them.

@flyingbiscuit, not yet, work has gone mad, it's next on my list though.

Here are my results for the 14 ch rx, everything works, and don't forget you can easily set this up to switch into 2 man mode without unwiring anything, either by remote switch, or a land and rebind.

z15 first one man mode test (2 min 56 sec)

Likely not. What matters is that the composite CG of the gimbal and camera intersect the gimbal's pivot axes. I don't know what a Nex-5 camera weighs but let's say it is 300 grams. If the camera mount hole-slop is say 0.5 mm than the resultant imbalance would equal 15 g-cm. Which means even if DJI needed to do post manufacturing balance at the factory, which is doubtful, they would have to employ a surrogate mass stand-in for the camera. It would be prone to the same kinds of hole-slop uncertainties of 15 g-cm, and beyond that, it would really be meaningless. 15 g-cm is something that DJI can likely determine via CAD and maintain throughout manufacture (considering how small gimbal is). Question, are there any correction weight positions obvious on the gimbal? DJI imprecisely touts this gimbal as the same pointing accuracy as Cloud Cap's smaller Tase gimbal. The difference is that Cloud Cap integrates the camera and gimbal at the factory. Any balancing they do is on the whole unit as opposed to the customer adding their own camera. Most gimbals that have the need for precise balancing are done on static CG machines, the majority of the remainder are done on shakers, other methods including dynamic balance are rarely used.

THis is my question. So I guess its not possible to use the 8FG Super w/R6208SB receiver to run both the S800 plus the gimbal?

It seems unlikely from what has been posted, but I would still like a clear explanation of how the 14 6014 ch rx and 6208 should be set up with just using binding. Also wondering if you do need 2 8fg to make this configuration work
