Hello again,

Yet another video, I am sorry if it is getting boring, but I really like to fly around with that copter/gimbal/cam. Chasing airplanes with the copter would be one of my favorites, I am not yet able to do that (with this copter), but I am working on that.

best regards

Ferdinand

Great videos ferdinand, keep them comming. They are really expensive video's though, you are getting a lot of people in to trouble because they need a zenmuse after seeing them

More great videos Ferdinand. As Hugy said, your videos are going to cost me a lot of money as they are selling me on the z15.

What I'm curious about is how people are buying Zenmuses (not affording them, though that would be hard enough, but finding someone to buy one from!).

I emailed DJI but no reply.

At 1:17 when footage is fast forwarded you can notice that gimbal is not rock solid all the time. Do you think you would achieve more steady footage if video was at normal speed, but the heli would be flying faster?

Thanks for your comments guys here is the next one (had a meeting there ):

Z15 Videoblog: 2012-08-06: Stift Göttweig (6 min 25 sec)

@quadslo

What you see in the accelerated (8x) parts is, when I yaw the copter. As I already posted, it has a lot to do how accurate you level the copter when initializing (plugging in the battery). Here I need a bubble level with me, and I have to add adjustable legs to my "copter launch platform". Of course if you watch this at normal speed it look a lot more "rock solid".

I fly already about 40-50km/h (so 8x accel corresponds to 320-400km/h). Of course if you take a heli, you could go much faster, but at about 80 - 100 km/h you will feel the wind at the lens I am afraid (but you will need to try).

Please also notice that I am flying not with the recommended copter, not with the recommended lens, not with the recommended settings on the Sony, ..., there is much space to bring in expertise (which I do not have).

best regards

Ferdinand

Actually the GH2 produces some of the best 60p video available in it's price range and many price ranges above. The GH2 can record 720p at 60fps but resolution doesn't tell the whole story. With the hack you can get stable 50Mbp/s 720p footage from the GH2 that looks better than any of the 1080p footage from the t2i/t3i or nex. The one catch is you can't use live hdmi out for monitoring in the 720p modes, so hopefully DJI will have a way we can easily attach a 2nd camera for monitoring.

It is interesting however that this Zenmuse gimbal for the GH2 is due out at almost exactly the same time the GH3 is due to be released. The GH3 promises 1080p 60fps in a weather proof housing and a few other things that might be perfect for A/P work.

Agreed it does a fantastic job of taking video but people at the "pro" level won't ever use 720p unless they are outputting to Youtube or Vimeo. Even then I would say it would be questionable.

I haven't had a client that would pay me for a 1280x720 end result. I haven't researched much on the GH3 but if that will do 1080 @ 60 then this will be THE camera to have period for video editing. I'm sure the software hacks will follow suit to provide even better video

I have hacked GH2 and 5Dmk2 and all i can say even upscaled GH2 720p50 beats 5D 1080 easily.

Unfortunately in a production you really can't mix 720p upscaled video with 1080p because the 720p upscale will look so much softer against the 1080p stuff in the video.

Setting up a Zenmuse and not sure what settings I need to change in the NEX-5N.
I know nothing about cameras and what settings to use.
Does anyone have any idea why when I face the sun my video gets all washed out. I am guessing I need to change a setting.
