But yeah they could implement a whole lot of improvements.

PS. Nice setup with the poti's on the sticks.
I'm not missing the video and/or photo IR controll as I never will take pictures with the settings I'm using for Video.

If you have issue with the IR and Sunlight you have some options.
1. Cover the area between IR LED and IR Cam sensor with a "black paper housing"
2. Move the IR unit closer over to the right and rebalance the Zenmuse roll axis by moving the backside tube.
3. unsolder the IR put cables in between and fasten it direct in front of the IR Sensor.

...and yes myself thinks as well all 3 option suck's for a 3K Euro gimbal were you expect its perfect out of the box.

the 3k gimbal is (as I see it) almost perfect.
The IR transmitter is only a "bonus" for taking pictures, and have nothing to do with the video (as I see it), and it does work
but yes in sunny light it can be blinded.

What I am more worry about is the calibration and drifting of the zen!

I do not agree with you. I use 1/60 to 1/80 for video and that works out quite well for photo's as well. Besides i use the mount just for photos quite often and even when there is no direct sun it still doesn't work. That being sad i have a separate IR shutter that is mounted 30cm away and in the same condition that one works 95% of the time. So it is not just a sunlight problem. And switching from video to photo can be very useful sometimes. And it is something even a 15$ shutter can do... but the Zenmuse can't do it... makes no sense what so ever...

Can Dji ad to firmware radio controls similar to standard gimbal control.

Eg.when Tilting the cam using a radio pot, the tilt stops when I stop turning the pot.
With the z15 Movement only stop when the pot turn position is in the middle
Z15 could have 2 modes one for 1 man and other for 2 man.

Radios are now being made with pot in-stick. A pilot flying and controlling his pan and tilt with a pot in-stick setup can achieve some really nice filming over a 2 man operation.
This would make it easier for one mam filming.

Also the robot movement that other members mentioned.
We should to be able slow stuff down.

Not sure if i understood you right, but I believe you are mistaken about the pots. They are not what they seem to be... not like the controls of a Sony playstation. They are in the inside the same as any other radio... take a look at this video:
DC-16 Transmitter Stick Switch Installation (4 min 39 sec)

Thanks,

Yep the pots don't work as good as the ps3 thumb sticks. When using pots to control the z15 I get very slow drifting.
Am thinking maybe the Sony psp micro thumb stick could be mod to the radio sticks

I modified the jeti radio sticks with pots. At the moment jeti don't sell the stick pots they only have switch in sticks.
I spoke to jeti firmware programmer who said he will add the pots in-stick calibration feature to the next second firmware.

@rruiz
I am using the Horizon HD as second cam (no iOSD, but EzOsd), and a video switch to toggle between the cams.

best regards

Ferdinand
