Well, I haven't accomplished much this past week but haven't been totally slacking. I did get the stuffing tube done although it hasn't been made "permanent" yet and glassed in the servo tray. I tried lots of different approaches before going back to my original tray too. I wanted the servo to stand up but it's too tall.
Stopped by Lowes tonight and picked up a 18x24" sheet of plexi and made my sub hatch. (13-3/4" x 5-7/8") Other than the thin line around the outside edge it's pretty much invisible in the photo though.

That was actually my desktop wallpaper until a couple of weeks ago when the computer it was on crapped out. Still falls into the category of best looking boat I've built (even if not the fastest).

Did a little more today along with some home repair that I didn't want to do. (both my toilet and my dishwasher developed "issues" yesterday)

After installing a new water valve and flapper in the water tank and finding nobody in town had the part I need for the dishwasher went outside and re-sanded the deck. The sub hatch did a really great job of keeping the water out while wet sanding and washing the hull.
After it dried masked it off and shot it again. It still has one small spot that looks like it has acne but I'm going to live with it. It's a lot better than it was the 1st time around.

Went over to visit with Dave (HRC) for a bit to pick up some new side rails for the motor mount too. These will let me use a full length jacket on the 1521 when I get ready to put it in.
Now I'm back to watching paint dry so thought I'd update here while charging a few packs for tomorrow. We may get blown out but going to give it a try anyways. I'm starting to have some serious withdrawals and need a fix.

Beautiful finish on the paint, Bill. She's coming along nicely. Sub hatch is a great idea.
We had two hatches rip off at the club yesterday in high speed tumbles. The tape just didn't hold them.
Cheers.
Paul.

Thanks Paul. I'm thinking I'll just use a couple of bolts & nuts in the rear to hold the main hatch down. That should keep any acrobatics pressure away from the taped down sub hatch and I won't have to worry about trying to tape the main hatch with it's bubble canopy right on the tape line.
Now that I have the new rails for the motor mount I can go to work on getting the mount installed after I get caught up again. It might be ready for water testing by our next meet.

Got as far as replacing the sides on the motor mount this evening. That turned into a bit of an odeal in itself. The sides fit fine but had to do some serious dremel "milling" on the front mount so it would clear the raised nose section of the Neu and let the mounting bolts go in straight.

I got the motor mount rails glassed in last night but didn't update at the time.It was just too close to bedtime. You can't see it but the rails got epoxied in place and after it cure removed the motor and added 5oz cloth to the rails. That in turn got a layer of CF over it to hide the white.

Found a scrap of dark blue vinyl left over from a wrap at work and brought it home with me. I cut that into pieces to make the two windshields. Not perfect but close enough for me.

I ordered a couple of the Kintec adjustable stuffing tube supports yesterday and plan to use one of them in this one. Will have to wait for it to arrive before re-instaling the motor.

Mornin Ray
It already has a Hitec HS-645MG in place and that's the one I plan to use. I've been running a HS-225MG in the DF-33 so the 645 should be plenty strong for this one.

Refer to post 1 photo 1. It hasn't grown on me either, but it came with the boat.
