Sidney how is the stability of the new S800 in wind, that must be a question on the mind of everyone who has used the WK-M on larger birds like the S800.

Personally I have two larger birds, a 70 cm hexa and a 90 cm octo that behaves like a dream in little to no wind like in the video you posted. But as soon as there are some wind to speak of it starts to wobble.

I have started to think that the big birds have to much mass and inertia for a fixed propeller to be able to keep them stable by regulating motor speed when the wind starts pushing them around. I think that maybe variable pich propellers, fast servos and constant high motor speed is what is needed.

Have you been able to solve the wobble problem in wind with your new design?

Finto, yes we have by matching props and motors.

so it means the S15 gimbal has its own IMU for stabilization and can be operate independently without input from WongHong M or the any FC unit , and also it has its own GUI (PC software) to adjust the gain setting, it will be high end AV130 + Picclo3 all in one, then $3500 is not that expensive , think about how much we pay to customise our cars, this hobby still cheap, just do not take any photos of someone's wife next door at pool, that could be costly at end.

For what I have seen in the spreading wings video the camera goes in a front position related to the frame center of the S800. Can It be adjusted to place the camera exactly underneath the S800 central axis?
Is there any plans to make a retractable landing gear for S800 to take full advantage of 360* horizontal rotation capability of Zenmuse.
Can the Zenmuse be also used in other frames?
And is it dependent on WKM or It can be used in multi-rotors that rely on other autopilot models like arducopter for example?
Any idea how much wind the S800 can handle fully loaded with zenmuse and let's say a NEX-7 camera (since it can't carry a 5D) ?

I would think you can mount the Zenmuse where and however you want.
For example it can work on a Multi or a Heli.
Retractable landing gear can easily be a aftermarket of future upgrade I would think.
You will need a DJI FC either way.
Wind, until I personally test it I have no idea and would not make any assumptions. That would be unprofessional.

Zen moose seems like a good project for DIY ers. Buy it, chop it to bits then use the electronics and movement stuff on a custom mount build.
Captain jack sparrow and hackerberry-fin need a Mount that can fit a fat cow and Two baby kittens.

Some close up pics would be nice when the thing hit the streets.
So mr jack can see if it will work.

Otherwise, I'm waiting for an independent review. I think the buy early discount to be a touch shady considering their extra special discounted pre-release price on the WKM Wookong.

It's half the price and in 3-6 months it'll be even cheaper, because consumer electronics actually advances and moves on to newer things instead of locking in crazy prices. That cam + ghetto up 360 mount made out of cloned servos + junk just to point to places and let the camera stabilize = win
