Hello!

The 40" version was made from Dollar Tree Foam (DTF) - It has a 5mm thickness.

The larger 52" version was made from Model Plane Foam (MPF) - It has a 6mm thickness.

Looks great! Hopefully she flys as good as she looks! Like the smaller scale too! What will your proposed power system be? Keep us updated on your progress!

Hi! The Icon A5 is just what I was looking for. But I could not download the plans. There are always empty files. Does anyone have the current version of these plans available?

Plans on First Post!

Hello All,

Thanks for the 'Heads Up'! I didn't realize my website was having technical issues! I'll get it fixed... but in the meantime, plans and decals are in the first post of this thread (where they belong). Thanks again!
Happy Building and flying!

thank you for the plans... ... finally I have them.... I thought I was going mad, ..lol.. I don't usually have problems on the PC...

I had started drawing them up in sketchup, doing trace overs, but now I can just build it....

Hello!
I really liked your technology, and I decided to do this to himself.
Thank you for the drawings! True, I had a little dream ...

Icon A5 - first flight in Kramatorsk (3 min 40 sec)

All successful takeoffs and soft landings!
Sincerely, Vitaly!

Not sure if it was mentioned but why not add wingtip floats?

He swims well without them. Just the boat itself out with large displacement, the plane itself and lightweight (870 g).

Way back when the model was in its early stages, I thought of adding them too. The "tipping" only occurs at low speeds on the water - it is also due to the torque of the motor. Once she gets up to speed on the water, the plane needs to be able to tip a bit to maneuver - kind of like a jet ski. She's actually a lot of fun on the water or wet grass. Wingtip floats may improve slow speed handling but I think they would be a big problem at speed. Also, the full scale Icon a5 does not have wing tip floats!
