Taken with my iPhone, but the wife's back now with her digital camera (16MP) if you need more/better photos.

Cool, thanks!

If you can do better with the digitcam, that would be even better!
Or at least would you write down the text on the ICs, because the processor type is bearly visible, the memory chip on the other side is blank at all. And I would like to know the annotations at the LCD connector named CN1 on the LCD panel...

Thank you very much!

I'll get on it as time permits.

During the disassembly/reassembly, it seemed to have resolved the trainer jack issue, but it's back now. I'll send another e-mail to Walkera, but if I don't hear anything by Friday I'll have to post my review of the unit as-is (piece of junk).

I'm sure I got a faulty unit.

Cheers!

Yep, it looks like some hardware contact issue...

Thanks for your help!

I heard from Walkera. They're having me go through some basic troubleshooting. Remove/replace the RF module and all that. I've already done it all before, but I understand there's a procedure to be followed.

Hopefully they can get it sussed. It's definitely a featureful radio. Worse case scenario I sacrifice it to the purpose of reengineering the firmware (and disable the trainer port).

Cheers!

Screen problem

Well guys,

I got about 30 flights in w/ my 120d02s with this freebie tx. The screen now has a big line of dead "pixels" running across it. Never dropped, always stored in a box. I can still read the screen fine, however, if I had actually paid for it, I wouldn't be happy.

The batteries show a full charge

Any ideas on how to fix? Maybe a hammer

Sorry Bob, Hopefully you bought it from a store that will actually help you fix it if your screen ends up like mine. I don't think it is a POS by the way.

Thanks again for the GREAT slipper clutches! Can you start work on the 130X version slipper clutch please

I'll edit this post to include the (hopefully better) photos of the mainboard.

The processor has the following text:
STM32F103
VCT6 Y
HPAAJ 93
KOR HP 124
ST (04) ARM

The memory chip on the other side isn't visible, even under magnifying lens, sorry.

The annotations for CN1 on the LCD board (from top (left or 18) to bottom (right or 1) are:
LED-
LED+
PS
VDD
07
06
05
04
03
02
01
00
? (single character. obscured by unremovable connector)
RW
A0
RES
CS
VSS

No useful help from Walkera (their advice is to buy another radio) so I have a paperweight. At least it was a fairly inexpensive paperweight.

Cheers!

Cool!
Thank you very much!

I'm awfully sorry that thay couldn't resolve your problem! But it is worth trying...
May be a future custom firmware (for wich the informations were needed) can solve your issue, but it will take some time...

Just another thing!

I suppose you have used Walkera's "Devention Upgrade Tools" to upgrade your tx, and it is still operational electrically.
Would you try this upgrade tool instead?:
http://www.st.com/internet/com/SOFTW...EMO/um0412.zip
This is the one STMicroelectronics made for their processors.

In the middle section we can find out the size of the memory sections by doubleclicking on them in DFU mode...

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that's the one I used to upgrade as the one from Walkera's website wouldn't detect the radio.

Of course, I run windows inside a virtual machine--only place I trust it.

I'll take the radio to work and use one of the spare notebooks lying around in my office (I'm a tech).

Haha... It seems that after disconnecting the battery and removing the module, the problem is temporarily solved. That is, until I power the unit off for a while, then it reappears. Maybe I should try wiring in a switch for the module...

Walkera's last message is to contact the 'distributor' for a replacement module.

Cheers!

Lets take it from me ther warrenty sucks big time.

I have big problems with my devo12 (lock outs)

Crached 2 of my birds my 550 and 700 due lock outs.

I tryed everything new modules all of the software upgrades eveything.

Bench testing with all the RXen i have 1201&1202&801&802&1002 always lock outs.

Contacted Walkera with this problem and they asked for a picture of the module.

I send the picture a long time ago and they say to wait until they checked the module.

Do they realy think im stupid how can you check a TX from a picture.

I still love the TX i bought a new one a devo12S and this one is working just fine.

Lucky me

Which module? The main module, rf module, or the trainer port's one?
Isn't it enough to disconnect the battery?

Its the module i placed to make a 12S from a 12.

Changing battery dont work.

I changed the module with a new one and placed the originel back.

Downgraded and upgraded the software nothing works.

The crazy thing is its not happening with my 120d02S and mini cp.

Its only happening with the walkera RXen.

With the new Devo12S no problem at al.

I still have a very expencive new TX.The price of the defective one+the price of the new one.
