The gators around here are all black and don't have white on them like that.

Gators and Crocs hunt in very different styles.

Gators are ambush hunters and solitary for the most part. They lay in wait nearly imperceptable then BAM as fast as a spark they grab their prey, drag them into and under the water and spin vicously. The victum soon succombs.

Crocs well they just gang up on creattures that blunder into them and tear them to shreds. Everyone gets a bite.

I think the poor lil elephant was a victum of an ambush.

He (the elephant) looked a lil malnourished and probably knew gators lie there but was sooooo thirsty!!

And they can outrun you. I know. They dont ALWAYS eat you though. Sometimes they just want to see how fast you can run.

Only under special circumstances will crocs gather together. Usually they're solitary ambush experts and do the death roll when they catch something large. The one with the little elephant would be a Nile crocodile which is much the same (maybe exactly the same) as our salt water crocodile (salty). An alligator wouldn't have a chance in a fight with a crocodile. Crocs are hugely dangerous animals and can be more than 20 feet long.
