modify cheap rc cars possible

Hi guys its been a while. I have stumbled across a situation that to be honest i can avoid but thought what if its possible to modify cheap rc cars.

I have 2 rc cars cheap models. Both are on the 27MHz band and when operated both of them receive the same signal on the transmitter.

Is there a way to modify the rc cars so they use different frequencies. There are no crystals in both the transmitter and the car itself. There are built in but clearly labeled RX and TX when i opened the transmitter and also opened the shell of the rc car and located the chip labeled RX.

thanks

Are the is it using frequency coils? You could adjust the coil to change the frequency of one of the vehicles, it would need to be done to both the TX and RX. Without knowing what models and what the innards of each looks like it may be difficult to really get help with it.

You should also be aware of the frequency of devices like that in your country. You should have a look here. It looks like your only choice is to move it 49mhz range and I don't think that will be possible without changing out the coils.

I bought the cars on ebay, heres the link.

Models vary but they are set to 27MHz frequency.

Would be great to modify the frequency, these cars are awesome indoors and are pretty fast.

I don't think you will be able to change the frequency by adjusting them. You may be able to change the a few digits past the decimal by adjusting it, but it would still interfere with the other vehicle. You could try to find another coil to replace that one in both the tx and rx if you don't mind some soldering. You will need to know what kind of power is going through that circuit and what the coils are rated for.

modify cheap cars

Hi I have the same model you have. Im trying to modify it. It was hard to track down the motor as the one that was fitted wasnt working properly. I tracked down a venom fireball motor from a 1:8 scale rc motor bike. A dollar on ebay. The motor is brushed. The motor slotted in perfectly in the rc car. The size basically needed to be exact. I powered it up using a 9.6V Nikko slot-in battery which i had laying around and it powered up. The motor is very very fast, i felt the power on that. I tried using lower voltage such as a 4.6V nicad battery and got decent power, i also used a 5 battery pack 6v and got even better power. The 9.6 V was really powerful though.

I have all the bits needed such as Futaba transmitter and a Futaba receiver 6 channel. Because the motor is brushed which ESC would you recommend considering i dont want to spend more money, and which battery would be suitable.

This is the link to a website. This is the motor i have - http://www.rchobbyexplosion.com/VENO...p/vnfm-106.htm

Here are some pics of what i have done, its a bit messy but really does do the job. Im planning to finish the inside to concentrate the exterior as its a ford ranger body and i want to make it nicer, probably respray it, decals, put some bull bars, light etc etc. Something to do on weekend i suppose.

Theres 2 suspensions that are missing, any ideas where i can get them from
maybe you may have a set. Thanks.

The simplest method to change the frequency is to install a hobby grade 2.4 GHZ set inside with a decent speed control . Or find used gear. May not be the cheapest but would be the best.
