It's cool, but I'm a little disappointed that it's not electric (this is the electric forum after all). And this thing is not really a foamy IMO... the entire fuselage is built from plywood and only skinned with foam. But then it might shake itself to pieces anyway with that huge DLE-170 on it... I wouldn't want to be under it if the engine flies off.

Mr. Warhead
Yes sadly its not electric, but is is truly a foamy. Please inform yourself by watching all the video updates. You might just enjoy watching them. Plus I would rather fail by attempting than to never attempt at all. Life is full of people telling us that we can't, but the successful ones never listened.

I did watch all the videos... and I did enjoy them... so I think I am informed. This is still the electric forum, and it's not an electric plane. Setting that aside, I still worry that the intense vibrations from the DLE-170 could shake the plane apart. Foam does not hold up well to that kind of stress and can quickly crumble to pieces. Also, gas + foam = napalm. I think these are valid concerns. Please be careful.

You'd think that if someone was going to put so much time, $$ and effort into building the "world's largest foamy" they'd actually research the topic first so they wouldn't miss the record by a few inches.

There was a brief flash of some bathroom scales in the video - it looked like about 60lbs per main wheel, so about 120lb overall.

What was being wrapped around the landing gear? It looked like webbing strap, but I'd have thought it should be bungee cord.

Why was the tail wheel on such a long support?
