I am wondering if there are different versions of these ESCs...
The Mystery 12amp I got (supposedly the same as blue) says 2-3S lipo both on label and on the included instruction. On top of that, the spec says this ESC is 8g, compared to 10g listed above. |

I've got to think that the hobbyking blueseries "specs" are incorrect.
The blue series speedo's made by ZTW in this 12amp size are 2-3s capable with the normal linear BEC and will do 4s when you disable the internal BEC by pulling the red wire. No way they crammed an SBEC into this esc, since there is no room for the components and you can see that there isn't the normal switchmode bec parts visible on the back. 99.9% of all SBEC equipped speedo's have a torroidal coil on the esc servo wire thats used to filter out the high freq switching interference from the sbec The listing that it has an SBEC is incorrect on the hobbking "blueseries" web page Its listed as containing a BEC for the Mystery blue series. I know the Mystery blue series only has a standard BEC, and not an SBEC. Regarding the Mystery blue series... here is the esc in its OEM form http://www.quantumhobby.com/ZTW_12A_.../ztw12abec.htm Output: Continuous Current: 12A, Burst Current 16A (up to 10 seconds) Input: 2-4 cells Li-Po or 5-12 NiMh/NiCd BEC Output: Linear 5V/1A Dimension(mm): 21mm x 22m x 4mm Weight: 8g |
