I like my Futaba 3156's too, they drop right in.

But they're only 33 oz/in. The 65MGs everyone has blowback with are 31. The Savox has 54.

I'm using the Spektrum DX8 transmitter. If I want to set up three rates, low rates, 3D (high rates), and "insane" 3D rates, what are the tried and tested (recommended) settings for the ailerons, elevator, and rudder?

Every exp has a low and high(mid 3d)rate recommendation in the manual, and then you're "insane rates" is just all you can get(Without binding!), and as much expo as you feel comfortable with..

Yep, DX8 here too and I just set as per manual as a starting point for the low and 3D rate then have the third rate the same as the 3D rate but with elevator throw maxed to the limit.

It's probably the type of thing where each person will end up with his own personal setting to suit his own flying style but the manual recommended throws are a great starting place.

I've go so many awesome EXPs that I don't get to fl;y them all. My Laser has sort of been sadly back burnered while I flew the 60" Extra, and I can't remember the last time I flew an MXS.

I took the Laser out today and had a blast with it. Since it was so dusty I cleaned it off with Rapid Tac Cleaner and Polish, which I really like. It gives the plane a nice shine, but doesn't make it greasy or slippery to hold onto. Great stuff and I am switch over from McGuire's final detail to Rapid Tac.

Got some packs through the Laser today. The harriers with the SFGs are so solid it is unbelievable.

I finally have mine ready again after losing a rudder servo mid harrier and flying into a tree. planning to fly it in the morning before the snow.

It is an Omega spinner from 3DHS, I got it from a buddy of mine.

There is another spot to get them straight from China, but I have not used them before.
