We've had so many complaints about the difficulty in using the small nylon wing bolts that honestly I got tired of hearing it, thus the change to the new retention method.

The recessed wing just looks cleaner and insures there is no gap between the wing and fuselage side.
Nothing earth shattering, just reacting to customer feedback.

Those of us with arthritis certainly appreciate it.

Either way Chris, I love your planes and I'll keep buying them!
I'm sure you're correct about the cleaner appearance at the wing/fuse intersection...
Maybe I just didn't like it on the two planes I had with that feature and your planes will be different.

My next 3 EF planes will be:
60" MXS
48" Yak
48" Pantera

Will these 3 planes have the recessed wing design?

Thanks for responding!

Have to say am gutted that my Laser money went to replace the edge with a MXS

But have to say - if the laser flys anything like the edge or mxs - am pretty sure the extra wait will be worth it

Well then... Like 'em or not, I'll have recessed wings shortly. Thanks again.

My guess is that's why the Pantera was delayed, but I am sure lookinhg forward to that one too.

OK, we are loading up now to go fly the Laser.

Space,

I thought you got another Edge?.. or is my memory playing tricks?

Chris,

I for one like the new wing retention method. Yesterday I wasted 15 minutes of my life trying to get one of the nylon screws to engage into the wing of my Edge, and when it did it cross threaded Having first hand experience of the design used on the new Laser I think it's much easier, even if you do need to carry an allen key... (no biggie because I carry one in my toolbox anyway)

I also like the wing recess, as you say it just neatens the interface up a bit and prevents any gaps.

So two thumbs up from me (for what that's worth) on the new little design tweaks.

I was - all ordered up and then found they didn't have the red - white - blue so opted to go for MXS

I thought the Lazer, Pantera and Yak are the three new ones?

There is one more, but I believe it is down the road a little bit.

I ran five packs through the Laser today. My friends were worried that I was too brave with it too fast, but the plane is just that good. It's very different and has it's own characteristics, but it is so solid I loved it right away. It is a lot like the Extra in it's precision, and a lot like the MSX with it's tumbling ability and pitch authority. I will probably put an HS5065 on the elevator so I can bump the throw up to 88 degree using the long hewavy duty Dubro arm.

One thing that was a bit shocking was how the Laser transitions from a blender right into a KE spin. If you manage the energy just right and hit the timing, it throws the ass over the nose so violently and quickly that it's a bit scarey. As far as a conventional KE spin, the Laser does those really well too, and it is one of those moves where it is virtually indistinguishable from the Extra EXP.

Harrier is real nice and the plane has no bad habits. Some of the build is a little different, but it flies very, very much like an EXP. Very. From what I can tell so far flying it in 15 mph winds, it is a little bit of Extra, and a little bit of MXS, plus a little bit of it's own.

But remember, it's an EXP and it flies very much like an EXP. Very.

The important thig is that I liiked it right away, and even though I was so nervous flying the plane I have dreamed about for 30 years, I was completely comfortable and knew what to expect from about 15 seconds into the maiden.

Unfortunately, none of my video guys could make it, and tomorrow is the Indy 500, which is sort of like Cristmas Day around here. We'll try to shoot some video tomorrow afternoon.
