Ver 2 gear

Big,

Not understanding completely. Am I understanding that when cycling the gear they will come up and then start back down all by themselves? Almost sounds like what mine started out doing. They finally gave out and got them replaced. The only other explanation would be they are hitting the current limit switch on the way up, which in turn will start them back down automatically. This is actually a fail safe in case it hits an obstruction .....etc that will send it in the other direction.

Let me know exactly what is happening....maybe we can help.

Still dealing with the retracts. Just recieved the canopy an installed it. ESM must be sourcing out because the new canopy is a thousand times better than the oeigional. Much stronger an also has an additional painted cross member located across the first pilots position. Glad the origional came with a crack....

More work completed

Well got more parts in and completed some more things.

Got the Prop and Spinner back. Lightly sanded the prop down and put one coat of flat black and then applied the white tips and Hamilton Standard decals. Then she got 3 coats of satin clear. It really turned out nice.

Cut out the holes for the exhuast and cut out the ends of the stacks for a more realistic look. Found some Anidozed Bronze for the exhuast stacks and then misted them with a silver to give it that glazed metal look.

Cut out the speaker hole in the fusealage. The front speaker cover is 1/32 ply that will be painted to match the fusealage and there will be black screening mounted to the inside of the cover to blend everything in and protect the speaker.
Next will be to cut out the speaker hole in the center wing section and mount the second speaker. Once everthing is mounted will give it a test and see how it works without any speaker boxes. Dave Harrison said to give it a try this way first using the fuse as a big speaker box. The only problem I see is that it is not a completly sealed compartment. So we'll see.

I did a short test last night with the motor and prop and all I have to say is WOW!!! Havn't put my GT Watt meter on it yet but it sure is throwing out a lot of thrust and that was not even at 1/2 throttle. There was so mush thrust it blew one of my pictures off the wall in my shop area....LOL

Well I'll add more when I get a chance. Some pics below of some of the work completed.

Triple W,

Welcome. I have not had the chance as yet, but I'm hoping to get some help at the feild to do a test run-up and get some numbers on this setup.

From what I can gather from other modeler's is that with this size prop, motor and batt set-up the output was amazing. Some had a problem keeping the motor cool, but I used the same baffle and ESC mount design that Matt had built. He believed it really helped keep the motor cool.

Hope to have some numbers by Sat. night.

Great Video Matt. !!!

Looks like its a lot of fun to fly.

Noticed that it looked like you were using mainly rudder to turn the aircraft when the flaps were down full. Does it want to tip stall at all? or is just better to use rudder more when at a slow airspeed?

The flaps really slow her down though....thats really nice.

GREAT JOB!

Its 12s 5000.
The motor is barely warm to the touch after a flight, thanks to the prop mostly, and the baffles I made that direct air up to the motor.
