Anderson Power Pole Metal Locking Pins Question?

Do you use the locking pins? I heard someone say they can vibrate out and get loose inside the airplane.

Thank you.

They are split roll pins make out of a spring stell material. Some fit tight and some not so tight. You can use a screw driver pushed into the slot to spread them and make them tighter.

I never really liked using them so have always used squre / round toothpicks instead. box of 250 is around $1 and I use each end so cost is next to nothing. Push in and trim flush.

I order mine from powerwerks.com and they sell the housings unassembled (individual connectors) and permanently bonded (already paired). Since I could only recall a couple of times that I've ever used an individual connector, I ordered the permanently bonded housings the last time ordered and I've never regretted it. I still have a pretty good inventory of individual housings in both red and black so I still have all the bases covered.

Pete

Note: I'll add that I've "permanently bonded" several housings on my older pigtails when the roll pin either disappeared or became loose.

Same here, a tiny drop of CA in the dovetail, slide it together, and it will never come apart.

I've never locked any of mine. The fit varies , but most times they are plenty tight for me.

I've only ever had to CA a few pairs together myself. I usually buy the 25 or 50 packs so I just keep trying until I get a tight fit. I was at the end of a bag all that was left were some loose ones so out came a tiny drop of CA.
