Stick and Tissue Cook Up!

Some of the most fun I had in this forum is when someone started a cook up of some sort, many planes all different yet all based on the same idea - made for a great thread and great ideas. Well, I just placed an order for some gear and wondered if anyone was interested in doing a cook up now, since I hadnt seen one in a while.

The gear I ordered is for an LRF, but can be used for larger planes as well, so I'm open to ideas. Stick and Tissue, LRFs, low cost, fastest, slowest, perhaps something completely new?

Any thoughts?

Nick

EDIT:

Alrighty, let the fun begin!

Rules:
1. Build a stick and tissue plane, any size, any electronics, any design.
2. Show a pic or video of it flying once complete.
3. uh...thats it!

I'll put the deadline for the April 1st, but it can always get pushed back a bit of someones lagging behind (probably me). Feel free to post pics of your plane along its build if you like or link to a build thread if you have one so we can see what you're up to. Once everyones entry is in, we'll do a public pole and a bit of voting to see who comes out on top

Good luck and have fun!
Nick

How about stick and tissue from a Hank Stuck plan. Many choices, common theme.

Sounds like stick and tissue is still where its at.

nemoskull, a cook up is basically just a friendly competition. Get a format (i.e. stick and tissue type planes), people build and post their creations, then a pole for voting to see who wins. Usually no prizes or anything, just some fun

Google turned up no Hank/Henry Stuck plans results for me, curious as well.

Nick

edit: some past cook up fun
LRFs
foamies
foamies part 2

most scale planes are going to be very difficult to make fly in a normal livingroom...

NICK: The name is Henry Struck. He was our hero back before WW2 and after ---- won national championships for all kinds of planes -my favorite was his Handley-Page O/400 bomber.

Aint that the truth, this thread is nearly 6 years old and to this day there still arent a whole lot of SRFs (if any?), even with all the new fangled lightweight gear of today. Excellent thread though.

Ohhh, Struck! Funny what one missing character can do, he does have some nice looking designs though, thanks for the heads up and the link. I have an idea or two of what I'd like to build, but nothing concrete yet, may try one of his.

The gear I ordered was pretty much the same, Deltang RX, couple actuators, a few lipos while I was at it. The IKARA would indeed be a candidate for a stick and tissue cook up, a perfect example of S&T

Any more takers?

Nick

oh well..... i hardly ever build from plans.....the sparrowhawk was the first. ive got the motors, and the RX gear on the way, tho i have enough gear on hand to get her airborne.
just need to finished up my peanut scale and i will start. BTW, im selling the airframe. no electronics, but rigged for RET, and an inventive person could add Ailerons with little problem.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1601082

anyways almost finished. ive got some nice 3 blade props just begging for a plane.
