RC Boat System mod help
I am very new to RC boats and would need some help.
I am designing and building a RC boat prototype for my school project and was recommended to buy and use the motor system from an existing RC boat with some modifications.
I got myself an Aquacraft MiniWildcat Boat and now I am stuck with some questions which I would need some help in:
- I would need to change the transmitter and receiver into a 4-channel type which I have already bought the parts. However, is it necessary to change the ESC into a 12A one as well?
- Can a single ESC be used for the 2 motors or must I buy 2 ESCs if a 12A ESC replacement is needed?
- Is the Aquacraft T-270 a brush or brushless motor?
Much help would be appreciated! Thanks!

As the stock boat has a receiver/ESC combined in one, you'll need a new ESC to power both motors.
If the stock one was 12A, the new one should be 12A too, or more.
You can run two (brushed) motors from one ESC, but there's no guarantee they'll rev equally fast due to differences in both drivelines.
If the T270 has two motorleads, it is a brushed motor , brushless motors have three.
