Serious Competion for GOPRO, the new "CAM ONE TEC"
I got to hold one in my hand today and push a few buttons...Somebody I know has one for "testing" before they are hitting the stores in March.
Holding off buying another GoPro HD in favor of this.
It is from ACME the FLYCAM people and this looks like it was made to be direct competition for the GoPro.
The first thing that hit my eye was that the lens is interchangeable, no "mod" like you have to do on the GoPro. The standard lens is 170 degrees and one of the interchangeable lenses that I saw online is 127 degrees.
It is 5mp or 8mp-depending on your setting, NTSC/PAL and the same quality waterproof type case as comes with the GoPro.
For it's size it seemed heavy. Metal body on it. The weight seemed close to the KX series of camera you can get for FPV, but without a scale in my pocket I couldn't say more then that.
Sorry these pictures are not the best quality, but in my hand the quality of the "TEC" was evident.
The line forms behind me!
