Bah, youse punks think you got it rough waiting on spring?!?
Try being stuck in a power wheelchair, dependent on weather that won't freeze you on the mile trek out to the one parking lot within the chair's battery range that's big enough to fly even micro R/C ships comfortably! The last time I took a plane out was in November, and I couldn't fly because there was too much wind on that chilly morning!
I have a fresh batch of 190mah cells enroute from miniaviation.com for the planes I flew all last season, and a Nine Eagles Sky 500, Skyangel Hawk 35mm EDF and a brand spankin' new Durafly micro Slick 360 waiting in the wings for me to shake the rust off my flying skills and maiden...talk about cabin fever, grrrr ![]()

Windy here too
Nothing like some of you folks are reporting but enough to force us to land before our planes were smashed into the ice (frozen lake flying).
My flying partner had replaced his Super Cub's skis with tires but they were too wide for the nuts to hold. The first wheel came off on the first landing try and he cranked her straight up for another go-around. At ten feet above the ice he banked left and the second wheel fell off - the wind was strong enough by that time he hovered it in on the wires with no damage. We found all the parts and have had a good laugh. Temps here in Maine are mid 40's so it sucks to have a nice flat lake, no obstacles, and too much wind. I have a lot of empathy for everyone and hope for good weather soon. Dave Maine |
