Bah, youse punks think you got it rough waiting on spring?!?

Try being stuck in a power wheelchair, dependent on weather that won't freeze you on the mile trek out to the one parking lot within the chair's battery range that's big enough to fly even micro R/C ships comfortably!

The last time I took a plane out was in November, and I couldn't fly because there was too much wind on that chilly morning!

I have a fresh batch of 190mah cells enroute from miniaviation.com for the planes I flew all last season, and a Nine Eagles Sky 500, Skyangel Hawk 35mm EDF and a brand spankin' new Durafly micro Slick 360 waiting in the wings for me to shake the rust off my flying skills and maiden...talk about cabin fever, grrrr

It was gorgeous here today in the Richmond, VA area. 60 degrees and very little wind. I took the opportunity to take my working 450 heli out for three batteries of flight. Good times! I wish my super cub mod build was complete. Tomorrow is looking like another killer day.

Here in southern Arizona, I fly almost anytime I want...
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 70. Northeast wind between 6 and 9 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. South southeast wind around 6 mph.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 79.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 78.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 78.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.
Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.
So, that's... Fly-Fly-Fly-Fly-Fly-Fly-Fly
I have 40 gorgeous acres next to the mountains with Palo Verde trees and Saguaro cactus surrounding my private airstrip. I leave my house, drive 5 miles on a highway with little traffic, go up 1.25 miles on a desert road to my airstrip. No people, no club rules & regulations. Just me, my dog, and airplanes to fly to my hearts content. After the last flight I sit with a cold beer looking at my plane and the beautiful Arizona sunset and life is good...

Lookin at 69-70*, winds from 4 to 9mph at MCAS Miramar (usually less east of there at the site). It's brutal here.

Windy yesterday, today, and supposed to be windy the next few days after. Did I say I hate wind?

Well today looks like kite weather here.
March is good for that you know and for knocking out power too.
We just got ours back on and it sure feels good.

Windy here too

Nothing like some of you folks are reporting but enough to force us to land before our planes were smashed into the ice (frozen lake flying).

My flying partner had replaced his Super Cub's skis with tires but they were too wide for the nuts to hold. The first wheel came off on the first landing try and he cranked her straight up for another go-around. At ten feet above the ice he banked left and the second wheel fell off - the wind was strong enough by that time he hovered it in on the wires with no damage. We found all the parts and have had a good laugh.

Temps here in Maine are mid 40's so it sucks to have a nice flat lake, no obstacles, and too much wind. I have a lot of empathy for everyone and hope for good weather soon.

Finishing my coffee and looking out the window at the neighbors wind chime. It's not moving. I'm off work today and I'm going flying.

Right now it is in the 70's with light winds, so I have been doing some flights on upgraded planes.

Calm this morning and i got in 4 flights with 4 different airplanes.
I was begining to think March wasn't going to let me fly anything but kites.
Cheers
