Hi,

Build the rcexplorer tricopter, its simple to build and flies very well. i have been flying mine fpv with a kk board from hobbyking. Its easy to control and i don't think you really need alt hold. It is my favorite fpv platform so far. i have planes ect but the maneuverability of the tricopter is addictive.

It really is not that bad it you do crash the tricopter it is held together with cable ties and the arms are pine, so in the event of a crash the worst case is usually a wooden arm and some cable ties. unless you free fall from 50+ feet (which i have done).

Had two people ask and thought it's a popular topic and broad enough to be sticky. Thinking about it now it's probably not fair on other threads. Sticky removed.

Hi everyone,

I'm prepping to build an FPVSweden style tricopter and the design calls for 10x10mm wood for the tricopter arms. I checked out Bunnings today and they had it in 9x9mm and 12x12mm, but strangely none in 10x10mm at all.

Anyone got a lead on where to source this size wood in Melbourne, preferably SE suburbs or online?

Just use the 12 mm theres really not that much difference. Bunnings have pine or oak. I prefer the oak as it doesnt twist as much just a bit heavier.

I would, but I'm using a "Pro Tricopter" Delrin Kit (http://www.getfpv.com/tricopter/pro-...kit-black.html) and it's specifically designed for the 10mm sized wood.

adicakes, thought you meant the rcexplorer.se tri. I see what you mean about the delrin kit. Try this thread too - http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=739052.

Hi mate I buy 9.5 x 9.5 pine at hobby man in dandenong. It's the closest thing I could find. However I did pretty much buy all their stock about 4 weeks ago.
