Multi Rotor Thread

Hi all,
I was thinking there should be a place here to show projects, ask and provide multi rotor related questions and opinions.

I am still pretty new to the multi scene and have built a rcexplorer tricopter v2.5 for fpv. It flies great however due to some avoidable circumstances i have wreaked it from decent hights several times. Most recently resulting in the end of the line for my old trusty gopro hd 1080p.

Causes for these crashes were:

- Weak cable ties breaking mid flight. (always use good cable ties) pays to check them after any hard landings.

- Poor soldering job causing tail motor to stop mid flight.

I have now completly rebuilt the tricopter, and am working on my first quad.

Owen from PP yeah?? The multiwii is a great flight controller and sh*ts all over the KK. All the things mentioned above plus the sirius offers auto-leveling which is handy for fpv. Also look at open pilot copter control which has similar features but cheaper. Havent tried it myself but everyone raves about them.

Nice! this weekend looks great on the long forecast 25 odd with light winds. It was two broken arms gopro dead and i didn't trust the wiring anymore. sooo fairly bad.

Full elec resolder and cleanup discovered the failed solder joint on the positive to the rear motor esc, plus the arms and some other mods, many hours labour and a new gopro hd2

I am very keen to fly this weekend

Might be an opportunity to fly early morning Sunday before the winds change from SE to SW, but you'd have to be early. I've got the BRW triathlon Sunday morning, so a break from the wind will be welcome for the swim leg.

Roger.

Hi mate,

These DJI boards have excellent altitude hold. Only problem is you will need to build a quad, y6 or hex..

Cheers,
