190mm Full Carbon Fiber Micro DeX Quad
I finally got the motors: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idproduct=5433
just to say.... I have not exactly followed which motors are usualy used by others for models of this size.... and I simply chose these ones because they provide enough thrust for GoPro FPV.... they are not quite as I imagined, they are quite long especially if you put x mount and prop savers for 5'' props http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=8237 because of motor tallness I was not thrilled with the look that has emerged ![]() so that the build was not clean as I thought it would be, I had to drill holes from underneath the hull, so the motors can be directly connected to the hull with screws. I plan to put the model into the water and I have to plug those holes.... with X mount that would not be a problem motor wires are sealed with permanently elastic sealing tape, I'm not sure how to accurately call it but google said the "Butyl rubber sealing tape" type I wanted to lower the motors as much as possible, so the X mount "ease of installation" was gone I also shortened the shafts as far as possible I have not decided yet what to do with prop savers because they are also a bit too high But for now the motors are up and the model got its shape

I peeled down ESC's :http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ontroller.html
to get proper cooling and glued them with hot plastic below the ventilation holes prop savers in original shape are perfect fit to that motors http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=8237 but I wanted to low the props as low as possible... So I pierced 3mm hole through the whole prop savers to get shaft rings for motors, so that props can go directly to motors I put the zip strips to hold props down as on all my models.... and 3 LEDs on back motor : http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...RED_1mtr_.html I hope that tomorrow I will have time to complete the model and finally fly it ![]() . |

Today was the first flight...
essentially micro flies the same as his big brother I don't see a big difference, except that micro is very jumpy on the sticks and he needs a much smaller stick shift I will complete build pictures with data details.... and make a video in all conditions ![]()
the first day was too windy, quad was more diving than flying ![]() but the second day weather was perfect
