Mine were like Jets. They were not really useable at around 75 cycles. My gen ace and genesis batteries at 100 cycles still performed as good as new (I bought new ones at the time of my 100 cycles to test)

Hobbypartz or Nitroplane (same folks). Wait until late May 2012, Helidirect is bringing out a new line of kick arse lipo for helis and planes at reasonble price.

Tested the slick today with the apc 15-8 prop, turnigy 3040 480kv.
No problem with this prop, good power 6min mix flight and the motor was just warm, put back 1600mah.

Servo Question

Hey Guys can this servo be used in the HK Slick? Turnigy 380MAX Micro Servo (Metal Gear) 4.1kg / .16sec / 17.4g
Under the specs it says designed for glider use. What is the difference between this and a airplane servo? Its shown in stock and I need four for a new HK slick.

The Turnigy 380max are the same servos as the Bluebird BMS380max. they are what I used when I first built my HK Slick. These are my thoughts from earlier in this loooong thread:

The 380max servos got the job done and have tons of torque but they are a bit slow and imprecise. Centring was also not brilliant so it was impossible to properly trim the model to consistently fly dead straight, nothing extreme but I certainly noticed an improvement when I fitted the digital Savox’s. They are also a little bigger than the holes in the airframe so you need to open the holes up a bit.

MMMM, the 380max are the same servos I have and I finally pressed the buy button on a blue slick.

I've had them sitting here for 2 years because I purchased them for my e-flite extra 32 but they were physically to small for it. I would much rather not buy new servos AGAIN.

How much surgery did you have to do when you switched from the 380's to the Savox's?

I had a few flights after the repairing the motor mount and I'm pleased to report that it flies well. As I got more comfortable and fly lower and slower, I found out first hand what you guys meant by it suddenly dropping a wing. I didn't crash from it, but it caught me off guard several times.
*edit* then again, my left wing leading edge has a dent at the root from the previous crash, so this probably caused or magnified the effect.

I'm thinking of getting the AJ slick after my HK slick expires. Do you guys know if;
- the Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 3548-840kv motor is a good fit on the AJ slick
- if the servos mounting plates are similar or bigger. I intend to transfer all the electronics over.

To fit the 380max servos i had to take 1.5mm from each end of the servo cut-out and just a fraction from the sides.
To use the Savox's i basically had to put that wood back again. I just cut little bits of ply and CA'ed them in the end of the slot. the width you can leave because you only have to remove a sliver anyway.

As a simple sport flying option would these servos work?

No hard 3d, very small throws.
