Micro-T use a 3rd part Radio?

Hi everyone

I just bought a lot of 4 used micro T trucks, with tons of parts,, But it only has one transmitter..

I would like to use my Flysky 2.4GHZ radio system with it. Can I use a different receiver with stock Micro-T ESC? or Do I need to use the built in receiver?

Thanks!!

The stock ESC and receiver are combined on one circuit board, so you can't separate them. Worse, the stock servo has 5 wires, so you need to replace it with a 3 wire one as well.

You can swap out the stock electronics, get a new ESC and servo to work with your flysky system, and possibly upgrade to brushless, but it won't be cheap. It'll be much more cost effective to look online for used losi transmitters.

That was a helpful reply, I had the same question. Sure it won't be cheap, but it's a fun part of the hobby. The Rx and a cheap ESC and servo are cheap from Hobbyking. What else do we need(other than brushless motor), and is there room to mount it? And is there a servo small enough that will work? There is also issue of the servo arm or saver, I'm not sure which it has.

If you get an e-flite s75 servo, you can swap the output gear with the stock servo and use the stock servo saver/arm. You also need to cut the mounting tabs off the servo, and trim the inside of the chassis a bit (use a dremel and it'll go fast).

Cool thanks Wparsons. I think ill grab me this ESC --> http://blackstarhobbies.com/index.ph...roducts_id=505

I bought a lot of 4 microT's... One is all RTR brushless, and he also gave a spare brushless motor, so ill throw that and this ESC into one of the trucks to make another one brushless

Hi All, I had a crazy idea.. I want to put a brushless ESC in one of the MICRo-T's because I have a spare brushless motor for it.. I was thinking of the hobbywing ezrun 18A but it is kind of big... Would a small 10A airplane ESC work? I am not sure if it would have brakes...

You won't have brakes or reverse with an airplane ESC, it might also have trouble with running at part throttle at neutral since a plane would have full reverse as the throttle off.

Yeah, has to be a car ESC, a bit harder to find and more expensive. The biggest problem with this thing is radio range. The stock radio is WORSE than toy grade. Too many projects to start another one!
