Cool
Swap Meet Find

Went to the Kansas City swap meet this past weekend and found this Dirty Birdi. It has all hitec servos installed and also rohm air retracts as well. I cleaned it up and man it looks good. There are a few nicks here and there which I would like to patch up and fix but not sure I can find the same color paint. I only paid 50 bucks for this plane with a gallon of fuel.

Roguedog, you are right! I did contemplate trying to offer a bit less but didnt want to insult the guy as it was already a steal at the $50.00 To my suprise too was that when I turned the fuselage over to look inside, I saw that it was the fiberglass fuselage version. Which made the deal even sweeter.

Anyone have any idea what color blue this is or where I could find a suitable match for some touch up work?

If it's dope, it may be Sig Light Blue.

Excellent Blake!

Now all you need is its younger sibling!

Take a rag with a touch of dope or laquer thinner on it and rub it on some of the overspray in the radio compartment. If it comes right off, then you know its dope. If it is not affected, its probably K&B or some other catalyzed paint.
I can usually tell if the paint in the engine compartment is gummy or can be scraped off by your fingernail. Epoxy paints will not get gummy, dopes will after the years pass soaked in fuel/oil.
