Cool
FFF Magnum Reloaded

Found this beauty in the Phlatforum and then on the RCGroups of Germany.

A very neat bird indeed. Kind of racy looking but a slow flyer. The original is EPP, but I am doing it in FFF VLF stlyle.

Plans in the works along with a SketchUp file.

Ken

Here is another neat video. I wish there was a kit out there.

This was designed by Martin Muller and here is the link to the thread he started on it. If you can read German you'll do well. Still worth the browsing. Magnum Reloaded

Just add a .zip file that contains the SketchUp and .cnc files to the first post.

You will need 2 meters of .051" CF rod for reinforcements and whatever you will use for wheel axles and landing angle gear braces. CF would be a good choice there as well.

Enjoy,
Ken

i liked the first video where they kept landing the plane ontop of the Eurovan. Reminded me of a small, playfull bird, only without the poop.

May have to keep this one in mind. There are a few nice little lakes down by the beach I could water launch one of these from. If anyone would like to make some PDFs for us who dont have a phlat printer that would also be great

Those German's are kind of sadistic. looking through all the posts there are a bunch of people who have cut the heads/upper bodies off dolls/toys and stuck them on the plane as "pilots"

Hello Ken,

I'm from Germany and have just found your posting in the german forum. I have already built the Magnum Reloaded from white EPP and am enjoying it very much.
If I can help you with any information please feel free to ask.

You can download the plans here (Klick on "Download starten")

The CAD files (dxf) can be found in the german forum here

The kit is available from Fabian Kopp, who is also posting in the german forum. I paid EUR 25 for it, but the shipping costs to the U.S. will of course not be cheap.

@ OutcastZeroOne:

Not all Germans are sadistic, some of them just like to have a pilot in their little plane.
I remember one guy placed a Snoopy made from cardboard inside.
But I think the most sadistic one must be me, since I shrinked my pilot to fit under the canopy.

Thank you for posting Project80!

Would you be willing to fill in the specifications for recommended equipment as well as the ready to fly weight?

Danke,
Ken

Ken,

Yes, no prob:

Motor: HK Turnigy 2204-14T 1450 kV
Prop: GWS 8x4,3 SF
Battery: Zippy 2S 800mAh (Can also be 500 mAh if COG is kept in mind)
Servos: 2x HXT500

The rtf weight is 253 grams with a 2S 800mAh battery and floats attached.
Without floats the weight is 226 grams

Thank you Andreas!

Saw your post on the German forum, as well getting a PM from Fabian.

Those are great numbers for the large wing area. I have that equipment handy.

By the way, your Magnum looks great!

Oh man Ken, here you go again!

This guy was mentioned somewhere else a few weeks ago. Did I see you post in that thread too? Can't remember.
RET so you know I love it. Definitely would love to fly it. No time to build it so I will live vicariously through whoever does first.
