Build Log
Depron Blohm&Voss 215

Hi,

Im going to build a BV 215 with a wingspan of 1m.(tip to tip)
This build is my first scratchbuild and it will take some time to get it finished.
I still need to figure out how to angle the controlsurfaces right, this thing will use elevons only, no landing gear, maybe a bungeestart hook but im not quite sure, yet.
The electronics are still on backorder, so i have to stop my build until they arrive.
I hope that some of you , would like to help me in some aspects, like to find the right CG etc...
Nevertheless here are some pics:

Go to this page and download the spreadsheet "Flying Wing Calc". If your software can not open an Excel spreadsheet you can download OpenOffice for free and it will run just about any MS Office file.

What is up next:

There will be no clear canopy, due to a lack of space. My lipo is mounted direct in my canopy, with this position of the lipo the cg is according to my calculation perfect

A great Project. Thanks for sharing.

I'm surprised that your projected CG is that far towards the front.http://fwcg.3dzone.dk/ gives a CG that's further back, and that program does not even take the additional winglets into account which should move the CG even more towards the tail. May I ask how you calculated your CG?

cheers

I used the flying wing calc, as it was posted here in the thread plus i moved it a bit noseheavy for the maidenflight! I have a good feeling with this position because i used a other program found on google too

Re CG, could you made a small "chuck glider" to test for CG location prior to launching your very nice build?
