Scratchbuilt semi-scale Swift S-1

A video taken on my Swift S-1 many years ago. The slope is only about 70ft facing South China Sea.

So what do I see at the top of the "video gallery" when I open RCG today? A video by my friend Joe in Singapore!!! Small world...
Pretty cool Joe. Is that up in Johar?

Been back in the 'States since Sept. Flying parkies in the schoolyard down the block but no slope and no DLGing . Too cold now anyway. My workshop is not quite up and running but do have a Flyline Kinner Sportster on the board.

Please give my regards to all the guys. I loved our time in Singapore and the active modeling scene ( complete with a master scratch builder- you) was a big part of that.

P.S. I still check in on DaddyHobby now and then.

Where in Singapore was that?
Last time I was there I was looking for just such a site.
Wish we would have seen the landing but a great video!

That's not in Singapore.
Singapore has only one decent slope. It's on Bedok Reservoir. Not a big slope but it is very pretty. Has a cupola at the top ideal for hanging out, shooting the breeze. Great bunch of guys frequent the site flying everything from top of the line F3F ships to scale to foamies. Had to get myself a foam wing when I was there to join in the full contact combat fun.
Slope only works during northern monsoon. Runs from ~Nov-March.

Hi David,

It's been a while since you left Singapore. This year's season has not been too kind for us. The wind started blowing late and there is a signboard planted at the base of the slope, saying no flying of kite and aeromodels in the park. It took us a few weeks to clarify with the authority before we are granted the access to fly again.

By the way, I have been busy coaching students in R/C aeromodelling in the Polytechnic just opposite the slope. I have not build any significant projects recently as I was busy building some simple high-wing trainers for the club. 2 'Air Boss' kit from Herr engineering, 2 Fred Reese's 'Cloud Kitten' and a mini 'Das Ugly Stick', to be exact.
