Bill, on scorps hydro build you mentioned a thrust bearing from OSE..you talked about which side of the drive dog it should go on i think... is that a needed part?

The thrust bearings I use go between the shaft coupler and motor. There's a photo of one installed on a 2028 in the big Llumar hydro I started (and abandoned to build the Falcon cat)

Bill, thanks for the link...wow you guys are boat kings...where do you keep all those things..between you and scorp you have your own seventh fleet!! I will have to look at OSE and see if there is something else i can order..with the thrust bearing.. I will check with my local shop too..is there a specific size? I guess it would have to match the motor shaft size, correct?

10-4 on matching the motor shaft size. OSE sells then in 5, 6, and 8 mm.

Motor and ESC showed up today....they are both huge!! I will post pics in a bit..

Turnigy 5692 1000kv 8mm shaft and Turnigy Aquastar 240a 12c 36.3v...the other picture is with a deck of normal playing cards....for scale.

The esc comes with no instructions nor does the motor.. The esc does come with the pictured extension and the usb programing stick. There is a link on the site for the software...we'll see..

8s 2p I'm guessing? (& suggesting)

The picture of the esc with the connectors on it. One i imagine is the cut off switch? The other is the rx connector and since there is no bec then the middle wire stays put... The last connector...is that for a separate power supply to the esc?

bill .i am looking at 9s2p...... i was looking back at scorps thread..an exchange between you and him..is the x270 prop the way to go....looking for an excuse to pick up the thrust bearings

First off lets make sure you are going to use a 2p setup. I believe Bill and I both suggested a prop in the 52-55mm range..........

Heck, I've gone down to work on a boat and ended up cleaning the catbox...............then noticed the fish needed to be fed.............then etc......etc............

So Bill, with the 5692 780kv on 9s2p, you think an x452/x455?

Yeah, Im still thinking along the 452 - 455 range at least for a starting point. A stock S270 is way too much prop for that motor. It puts a pretty good load on a 2028 even. I know mine is cut down to about 60 mm and think your's is too best I recall.
