We shot a little more video this past weekend. This was Fitz's 1st flight with the Popfly. He took right to it. Still waiting for an opportunity to fly/film it at night. The video is uploading as I write this, but it should be ready in a bit. So I'll go ahead and include the link:

Seems that Lee thought you were referring to his suggestion of catching the Popfly in my teeth, when you were actually talking about Fitz's unique launch technique.

Only Fitz knew that the crazy launch was coming, but it works.

A name for the launch? I vote for "Fitz"...we just turn the proper noun into a verb.
"Hey that was a good fitz buddy. Nice form during the turnaround. You've obviously been classically trained."

BTW - If a big selling point of this plane is its ability to fly in a small area (ball field), I think Fitz demonstrates that very well in the video. He keeps it in close.

Yes, except that I'm hoping to do some AP. So, I need something that can haul my Flip camera. I'm planning to take my FlyZone Sky Fly Max if there's room. It's a good AP plane at sea level. I dunno about 8000 ft!

I have a good Idea how you wired it and probably used the LED's with the four leads but where did the controlling chip come from ?
I bought a few crystal display stands that gradually changes color and tried to get it to drive more but they burn up at about six lights.

Great job on the Popfly, love the colors ( red really shows up well)
I wonder if it would have helped with the mid air.

Just wondering . . .did the formed leading edge play a factor in the models making it out of trouble.

Good question. I cant tell if our leading edges touched. However, I have no doubt they helped when I dove mine straight into the ground later in the flight...no damage at all. I was rather amazed at that. Unfortunately, that part was not filmed...really.

Specifically, I used this controller.

I'm still experimenting with colors. I agree that red helps orientation better. I may choose green as the other solid color instead of blue.
