You might be able to purchase Phenolic here... Phenolic is what is used in the original.

I doubt the original is anything but soft ply and carbon fiber. Bass wood is good stuff. What ever works....

The originals are made of phenolic....(at least mine were)

My 72 has phenolic, and it is wicked stiff.

My 70 is not phenolic for some reason...weird.

Yep from the Fredricksburg warehouse during the final sale. Its a laminated wood center with carbon fiber top and bottom.

Steve - your buy it here went to a kit build, did you see Phenolic somewhere.

The joiner on the old 70" was wood sandwiched with carbon fiber. The 71" has a phenolic joiner.

All my Slicks also handle turbulence well. If you want stability along with the wild side of 3D, the 51" Slick is for you.

I try to choose my planes with future upgrades in mind. The 48" SV uses three
HS 65MG servos and one HS 85MG servo on a 4S battery. The 51" Slick uses four HS 85 MG servos.

The performance of the Vyper will likely overcome your objection to the way it looks. I'm eager to see what my yellow 48" SV can do!

It was a tough choice, but I decided to go with the Yellow 48" Super Viper to maximize the precision, even though I wasn't fond of the fuse shape and the flat fin/rudder design. Hopefully, the those two concerns will go away after I fly it. Of course the Omega 130g is out of stock now....just like the 59" Slick, I need to learn to pull the trigger quicker down the road

This stuff is the same as this stuff....and both work great!! Windex also works...

I clean mine with either 409 then warm water, then wax them.

ammonia free glass cleaner then some sort of spray wax
