I always try to tell people to try and do it right from the get go but I know from personal experience that that's just know how it works... I've wasted a lot of money this way. Well... I woudln't say I've wasted it because I've had a blast and I'm able to sell most of my used stuff anyway but it would've been much more efficient if I had just gone down the right path from the beginning.

But it's also hard as a beginner to wrap your brain around investing in something other than a new plane. Who wants to spend $500 on a charging setup when you can just buy a new plane with that money??

I hated spending the money for a Venom Pro ($110) 50W charger a few years back. Then I moved to a Turnigy 50Wx4 charger -- yeah $100 well spent at the time. Then moved to a 400W charger, but even that wasn't enough once I got more into parallel charging. I finally just bit the bullet and cashed in on a PL8 charger. I figured with the ability to upgrade the firmware on a constant basis, it should be the last charger I need. Being able to charge my batteries in less time than it takes me to get my planes loaded and ready to go makes it really nice!

1) someday......

2) watch the vid again with the mentality that the red is painted on to an aluminum airframe......the way the motor sounds in the vid, it sounds like an engine resonating through an aluminum airframe

Sweet flying indeed but damn that video reiterated my distain for gas.

ok, so after some hard flying of the 70" Slick, I noticed the my elevator hinges are a bit loose. What is the best way to redo the hinges? Of course I can't take the elevator all the way off because of the rudder.

Cut them flush, drill holes next to them. Use slow epoxy to install new ones. It can be done....don't ask why I had to do it....just know that it can be done....
