thanks for the link,
did you found any whight numbers? Looks havy, mayby 200-400g

12V should be not a problem, in case you use a 3S Lipo.
Driving the zoom, can become a chellange. I saw a video on youtube where such a funktion was in the video but no idea how it was working.

Also my first idea just glue 2 micro servos on the case and lets the servos press the buttons , or you have to open the case and try to find out how you can use your TX.

Whould be happy if you can check the wight.

hmm I don't know. The resolution is 'more than 480'. Which is decent, but nothing stellar. The only thing that bothers me is that the minimum illumination is stated at 6 lux. During the day it might be fine, but I don't know how it'll handle dusk. For reference, most of my cameras have a min illumination of .5 lux.

They might have a typo because the manufacturer has this specs:

I have never seen a 6 lux camera, not even cheap ebay ones so that's must be a typo on their auction. This camera retails in other places for $500+ so it must be good. Will see when they get here.

I have seen security cameras sell for $500+ and then found that they have the same Sony CCD chip inside as some of our board cameras for $120. Its often the packaging and zoom lens and so on that drives the price up.

You can't really use much zoom without stabilization. The image shakes around so much its unusable. As far as I know, there isn't any hobby level image stabilization systems available.

That would not be a problem since I design and sell camera mounts, www.claserdesigns.com and I'm now entering into stabilization and larger camera mounts. It will be a good challenge for me. I can always use them on my spy car that I'm building

Ok I received the cameras and took one apart to remove all the metal possible, now it weights around 160grams, I'm still looking for a servo channel controlled switch for the zoom.

This will be installed on my Skywalker with a custom Pan/Tilt 600mw 5.8ghz VTX and Cloverleaf antenna.

The camera while is in 27x zoom is not shaky, it might have some sort of mechanical stabilization system inside, I dont know.

Here is a little video (OSD can be eliminated but in this video I have the Zoom X showing)
Option I tried are:

Mirror
Negative
Mechanically removed IR sensor and switches to black and white

Most block cameras use RS232 to control zoom and focus. I think there are PWM to RS232 converters commercially available. I would check DIYDrones. This is a very cool project and one I've always wanted to try. Good luck!

hm not to bad at all. Try it outside and see how it handles that. Lots of cameras look great inside, but at flying distances, not so much.

Does seem promising. Doesn't get grainy on zoom or anything.. nice find.

as it says in the auction, it's a 1/4 inch sensor, and 6 lux minimal sensivity.. quite low-end numbers if confirmed

This one is meant for police car installations, no rs232 inputs/outputs.

The camera outside works great, I will post better videos later today. The camera mechanicly removes the ir filter and converts to black and white, it has sharpness feature and a lot of other settings. I will try to record all the features.

I think 6lux is a typo, resolution is like any other Sony CCD camera outthere but with more features.
